NJIT, Sun. Dec. 20, Noon, FS1 & 970 AM

Hope this is the last year we're this bad for a long time. We all knew what this year would be but it still sucks going a year without hope of making the tournament (or the NIT for that matter). At least in pro sports you get a high draft pick when you suck.

Hoping they can pull this one out. Win this one and it's a solid OOC performance considering the circumstances.

We were up 3 and then went into a trance. 11-0 run and counting since NJIt picked up that loose ball and hit the 3

We were up 3 and Johnson got a rebound dribbled down and threw up a ridiculous shot. NJIT got stripped, Johnson dribbled the ball mindlessly, got stolen for the tying 3 which led to the 15-0 run. Play Ellison, Johnson stinks, he brings no leadership to the court.
 
Let the freshmen play rest of the season. It's over so just let them gain experience for next year.
 
Since we can no longer beat the dregs of college basketball at CA and nobody goes to games there maybe we should just play at MSG and more road games

Agree big time, we didn't give up but that's about all you can take from this.
 
Yep, we're desperate for guards. Can't really be a competitive team with this roster. Should still be able to beat NJIT and Incarnate Word though. Truth is we're a bad team that's playing below it's potential. Really embarrassing weekend. Better days ahead.
 
All I'm going to say about this weekend is I cant think of a worse weekend as a fan for games.Because of these 2 debacles I'm not sure we even get 10 wins

Why should we be able to beat NJIT? Because it says St. John's on the uniforms? Because we went to a final four 30 years ago? Because we play in the Big East? How many good teams have we had in the last 10 years? This program is completely rebuilding for the third time in 10 years. We have no PG, no quickness in the back court, and little experience. Forget what the Jersey says. NJIT is a junior and senior filled team with an honorable mention All-American. They are a program that has been improving. We were 1.5 point favorites at home. The oddsmakers get it, but a lot of posters are missing the point.
