NIL’s

As far as Sneaker deals are concerned, all the companies care about is the athlete doing well at the school he attends so that when he gets to the League his name value has increased.

New Balance has very little presence in college basketball. It is in their best interest to have Caleb Wilson attend a school where he will get maximum exposure.

I know things were different then but Bill Wennington and Larry Washington (there’s a name from the past) both wore Converse while here and we were a Nike school then (among the first to get Air Force 1’s and Jordan’s).

Guys like Pitino adapt to & embrace change. Guys like Gundy don’t.

“Brown bag” purchases on Amazon are on fire. “Commission” lol

If players from other teams are being promised NIL deals in January,, then why not simply open everything up and put it out in the open.

I would create a January open window for transfers, emulating the European soccer leagues. Make it during the winter break and have a college hoops wide bye week for games, while they work out administrative issues.

I think it would make watching teams tinker with their roster in season fun. Especially if a top team suffers an injury.

This is pro ball now. Go all in.

It is pro (or semi-pro) but that would go too far for me. I'd lose interest fast.

You may lose interest, but you may also just say screw it and get a jolt of excitement.

We have often said that we are done with college sports if “X” happens. But that “X” usually does happen and every time the needle moves more and more towards college becoming professional sports., we are still here.

I am approaching it as since players are being promised money from another school during the season, those players may not go all out, fearing an injury which could nullify the NIL deal.

I didn’t say I liked it. I am only saying all cards should be placed face up on the table.

I would be through with college basketball after being a fan for 70 years.
