NIL’s

Then he remembered SJU does not have football, so there is no need to be concerned with the required $5-$10 million to land a 4 or 5 star QB.

He then had a glass of water and everything went down fine.
But UCF does. People don’t get rich by spending money they get rich by making money.

Actually people get "rich" by spending money be it seeing the world, experiencing other cultures, trying new foods, attending cultural performances, buying books, helping others, etc...

And MR's NIL donations are a drop in the bucket. I think I spend more of my net worth on the above items annually than he does on NIL. ;)

If he considers it a drop in the bucket and WANTED to spend real money on us he would spearhead a refurbished on campus area.

Seems to me that this is pretty easy to skirt the rules. Have the player take a few photo shoots for a company. They send out a ton of social media posts and the kid wears the clothes around campus and he is a "Brand Ambassador".

I hate, hate, hate all of this
I hear you Redmanwest and I totally understand. Just realize that NIL is one of the reasons that our favorite program is back from the dead. Of course Coach Pitino is a major factor also but NIL and out ability to compete in this landscape is also a major factor. We don’t storm back to relevance so quickly without NIL. NIL has benefitted our situation.

I hear you. No one likes it but seems you have to decide if the joy and distraction from rooting for a sports team pro or college/pro. For me it does so I pay little to no attention to the other stuff.
Agree, I try to go w the flow. With college hoops morphing into a pro game, the chance to see high quality play is what keeps me going. The fact that my alma mater is in the top tier of the “new game” makes it even more appealing.

I think UCF will need to set their QB sights lower than the four or five stars guys.

I agree with the bolded portion.

The four / five star guys is an interesting topic, because the portal has some teams valuing transfers with experience higher than high school prospects. It'll be interesting to watch how it impacts high school recruit valuations.
