I was thinking that as well so it must have come down to he wanted to play there vs here like you mentioned.
 
Lee will build a compound a la Jeter in Tampa. Gainesville is god awful except for the girls.

For 2 mil in NY you can get a 3 bedroom in Park Slope...
 
NIL should be renamed LMAD (Let’s Make A Deal) as NIL has little to do with actual NIL funds. Rules could be established with limits, boundaries and contracts but as long as the greed of coaches player’s handlers, University Administrators and others exist I just don’t see it happening.

And do that by respecting the moderators
who maintain this site in the spirit its creator wanted it kept and do so voluntarily without compensation. Enough F***ing said one would hope.

You obviously don't remember the genesis of "Red.com".
The original "redmen.com" on the AOL platform was the wild west of college sports forums!
It transitioned to the current platform and had a "religion and politics" section.
It had moderators who would call you up to tell you to gofyourself and needed permanent "time outs".
We all appreciate the time mods put in, especially guys like LMF who are active participants in discussions.
Finally, don't conflate the praise I gave to donors, both for NIL and this site, with a "mod". That's disrespectful!
Keep "on topic" and mods would not have to moderate a discussion.
It's that effen simple!

I dunno if that works out to a compliment for the moderators in general but thanks (?) anyway - and now back to NIL.

It's going to be interesting to see if/when guys drop out of the NBA what deals they get. The market might be interesting depending on how many teams have money and spots left for them.

By whatever means it occurs, it would be good to see some guardrails for the whole NIL process - but I am enough of a cynic to think that no small part of the push is coming from football schools because it has occurred to them that they may actually find themselves at a disadvantage versus the basketball-only schools, which would level the playing field (obviously something they are completely opposed to except when the "level" is in their favor)

Yeah the old AOL message board was crazy, but it wasn't "Redmen.com". I don't recall if AOL was shutting down the message boards necessitating the new site or if Paul just thought he could do better and set up the original RM.com, but the rest, as they say, is history.
