Next Coach?

seriously mark jackson although flawed obviously i think would be a good hire and a good draw for kids looking to get to the NBA. And I'm sure he wouldnt bring questionable characters along for the ride

I don't want a coach who will preach to his players.

And I don't want a coach who thinks his wife's free time should be spent gyrating in yoga poses in front of his players.

And I never said I would either. If you'd like I have images of Lavin doing the Yoga poses from the Fox pregrame I can send you. I can say with confidence they look good as avatars from personal experience.

Mark Jackson is not fond of SJU currently.. And has some serious flaws in how he coached at GS.

Fans love Mark for what he gave the the program and they should think long and hard about wanting him as coach because if he fails and law of averages say anyone coaching SJU will fail then his reputation would be stained.

Come on man. Regardless of whether people think Lavin is a good coach or not people should leave his wife who is a super nice person out of discussions ( It's not just you several other posters have done that before )

That's just not right and people in general shouldnt go there

It was in response to what coaches choose to do (MJ's preaching).

No need to put on the cape for her.

I'll pass on the pics as I'm done with the guy.

I agree it would be a major risk and more than likely never going to happen.

I agree. The Yoga ones are a bit much.

But the movie theater popcorn with Titantic poster in the background is just too good to pass up.

Mark Jackson undercoached his team to the tune of at least 15 fewer wins. What would he do here? Plus he's super arrogant. Anyone who wants him here needs to watch tapes of the GSW from last year and compare them to this year. Let me know your findings.

Pompous fornicating phony preacher. No, I am not describing Al Sharpton.

Not trying to put on a cape for her but fair is fair and good people who have nothing to do with the state of our program should be left alone

You can actually make an argument that we have been for the most part pretty light on injuries over the last couple years compared to some other teams and maybe the team doing yoga has something to do with it.

Personally I can't get into yoga but my fiancee swears by it and I actually have some friends who have gotten into it so I'm actually thinking about possibly giving it another chance to lower my stress levels because my Dr swears by it also and he thinks it can help my lack of sleep

Here's my two cents for a solution. Send Lavin and staff home today. Bring in weatherman as head coach and Paultzman as assistant and chief recruiter. Maher is the perfect fit for assistant and head of conditioning. No one knows X's and O's like weatherman and no one can top Paultzman on the recruiting side. Mike can do his yoga thing and he comes cheap if we package in free pale ale's. The only downside is that 114 will be decimated.

Gotta get a spot for Desco on the staff because we need someone who sets the bar high for dress code. Heck he wore a collar dress shirt the other day with a mullin jersey over it. The guy walks the walk and backs up the talk

I met Desco twice and see him in the AD role. He can fine you for wearing that sju gear on the bench. How about Jack for student assistant?

And we can take Jack to a strip club in Pittsburgh

LOL. I'm no front man. Let me play the part of Dunlap. Desco ( If he comes to a weekend game dressed in a suit as a fan then he'll give Jay Wright a run for his money.) or Maher (He's the mayor of 114. Need that as a head coach) for the head coach.

So what coaches are available and would be willing to join SJU given the current state of affairs?

Isn't Ben Howland semi retired?

A mid season termination would only happen if there was some criminal charges filed.

How much is the men's BB program worth to SJU?

Not suggesting anything, but, for Danny Hurley critics, in my opinion he is getting job done in third year at Rhody;

@JonRothstein: URI now has two more wins than it had all of last season. Rams are 16-5 overall and 8-2 in A 10 play after today's road win at Richmond.

I know Hurley can coach but at the end of the day I believe he would be a temporary coach, eventually going to a major (read, football) conference. Besides, as I have posted before, I do not think he or his brother would come here. That is one of the reasons I supported Norm longet than most; I felt if he worked out we would have a lifer. Obviously he did not work out.

Do you know anything about either Hurley to substantiate that? Given both are from the area and Hurley sr's decision making in his own career, I think either the johnnies or the hall would be attractive.
