Next Coach?

OK, I made it through the first 40 pages of this dribble and was able to compile a list of alternative coaches that were listed. In no particular order, those names are as follows:
Mark Jackson
Bob Hurley
Anyone else with the last name Hurley
Bob McKillop
Mike Hopkins
Ben Howland
Josh Pasner
Tim Cluess
Marshall (Wichita)
Bruce Pearl
Miike Dunlap
Whitesell (SJU)
Archie Miller
Jim Harrick
Jeff Van Gundy
Seth Greenberg
Zach Spiker (Army)
Kyle Smith Columbia
Masiello
Cal (Just for laughs)

I apologize for any misspellings, after reading 40 pages of this drivel, it's a wonder I am not in an asylum somewhere.

Which guy should the search committee call first?

Why would you ask posters whose thoughts you term "drivel" their further opinion and why having been so insulted would they answer?

It would have to be a young up-and-comer, or maybe even a hotshot assistant that the general public does not really know about. Reason for this is, if Jordan and Obekpa bolt, no established coach in his right mind would take this job. That's why I think Lavin ultimately gets one more year (no inside info, just a guess).

We also have to accept the fact that we will likely be looking for another coach 4-5 years hence, because either this guy gets fired, or he leaves for greener pastures.

The first name they call is not on your list.

Billy Donovan?
If your going to put Donovan on your list, Why not Calapari?LOL

Cal's already on the list. I know Donovan's name has been floating around the boards (because those who do not learn history are destined to repeat it), maybe it was in another thread. I also recall see Doh, although I believe (hopefully) that it was in jest.

Hurley's Buffalo team looking real good on ESPNU.

32-16 record

To me even though I hate all things Duke if I were any school he'd be one of the most interesting candidates for any job amongst people who have jobs at lower tier schools

Cluess gets criticized mostly because his team's play zero defense. He has won everywhere he coached, but his success at Iona IMO is attributable to bringing in talent that is much better than what exists in that league, which can is usually not that good and terrible this year. I don't think he could have he same results at a higher level with his no defense philosophy. He is perfect for Iona though.

Watched the game on Fox and prior to the game one announcer said St. John's would loose while another said we would win. When asked why I was very disturbed by his response which was unfortunately very accurate.
He said because St. John's looses to teams they should beat and beats teams they shouldn't.
I thought back to year one when we lost to Fordham and St. Bonaventure amongst others and then went on to beat top 20 teams. Unfortunately there is too much truth in what the announcer said which makes it very hard on the fans.
I for one would consistently like to beat inferior teams.
Today was a very nice win. Kudos to all especially Sir Dom who is finally being properly used.

North, Dom has not been used any differently then he has before. The difference is he is making plays now. He hits his free throws but when he has the same shot that is not a free throw struggles from middle of the floor. To me he is MVP of season, if only he had a consistent jumper he may be best pro on the team.
