New York Mets 2025 Season

Baseball seasons always have a lot of peaks and valleys, but really starting to feel like something is just missing from this group. September schedule looks scary too. No easy teams there (Although every time we hear how easy their schedule is it doesn't work out).

I get the sense that this team is about to make a massive run. Manaea was dominant for 5 innings and awful trying to go 6 for the first time since coming back from injury. Senga is probably a few starts away from clicking. Peterson is a horse. The bullpen is nasty in spite the last few days. Megill will be back and we have a few AAA kids to call up.

The secondary hitters in the lineup actually look somewhat formidable after the Mullins acquisition and Alvarez turnaround.

I will run with this optimism.

Don't disagree, but they really need the starters to give them length. Holmes going 5 & something would be very helpful.

Lineup has no vibes. Lindor, Alonso, Vientos hot? Okay, Marte (who should not be batting first in 2025), Soto, Nimmo will be ice cold.

Mendoza taking Holmes out after five was ridiculous. Don’t care about getting him out on a high note. Important for him to feel success in the sixth, and give this bullpen a break.

I also don’t care about the results, sitting Mullins (after a night where he had two hard hit balls) for Taylor? Come on.

I’m so desperate to see something good, I tuned into the ninth of this Yankees game once I saw Stinky Phil Maton was getting the chance to close the door for the rangers

Thought maybe I’d get to see a vintage maton melt down and laugh at it. Nope, pretty clean inning. Secures the win rather easily.

And with that, the city of New York is a combined 1-9 in the month of August. Mets 1-4, Yankees 0-5. All the sudden, the city having zero October baseball isn’t even far fetched.

I hope this is rock bottom and things turn around
