New York Mets 2025 Season

Stearns has a blind spot and it’s Starting Pitching. It’s not a second guess if we said it when they rushed to sign Montas. No idea what they saw but here we are. He has nothing. I don’t want to hear about missing ST. Pitching lab fantasy be damned. He needs to admit the mistake and move on. Sproat, McLean, Tong. Any of them can pitch better than this.

By the way, where the hell is Tylor Megill? That’s how non competitive Montas is. It has me dreaming of watching Megill labor but at least he gave us a chance once in awhile.

McGill could have been a cameo actor on MASH, when isn’t he hurt?

He’s been out 7 weeks already. Another 2-3 weeks minimum. This guy is always hurt and never heals. The guys with gunshot wounds in Korea healed faster than Tylor. Paging Doctor Pierce stat!

He’s remarkably consistent year to year with his injuries and monthly production. He’s a cy young pitcher March/April, falls off a cliff in May, gets hurt and misses most of the summer, then comes back and pitches a rough August but decently in September/October. About 90 innings for 2 mill.

Sproat and McLean would lose their rookie status/an option year for next year if they are brought up before Aug 15th. So expect something after that.
Wouldn’t be opposed to stacking them together to try and get 8 innings since they pitch one after the other in Syracuse rotation. 2 times through the order and out. McLean has a few relief appearances in AAA and even took over at least once mid-inning. Use Garrett as a bridge if needed.

Maybe stack Senga and Holmes too.

Between August 15th and September 14th, the Mets play 29 games in 31 days. I'm guessing they'd have to get to a six man rotation.

It seems like Blackburn does not like coming out of the bullpen + Mets were doing him a favor shopping him at the deadline. Hopefully they can add one of the pitchers to the rotation and DFA Blackburn. Move Montas to the Blackburn role and bring up the other one as needed for a spot start

Montas is a problem. I was in favor of his signing, but you can't be pitching your team out of a game in 3 innings.

This teams situational hitting is horrendous.

They need to fire this hitting coach of theirs. Any team that relies on home runs for everything will never win a World Series and the “hitting” coach is obviously not helping.

Sny crew let Lindor off the hook again. It hit his glove, should’ve caught it. It was a bad throw by Baty, but still.

Team is just leaving too many guys on base
