New York Mets-2018
Harvey reportedly out partying in LA during the Padres series.

Not surprising. However, he is on his own time. He was out Thursday and game wasn't till Friday night. Of course their are "rumors" of other issues. But do any of us know the truth? Thankfully, his time with the Mets is coming to an end. That ship has sailed as Paultz would say!
Big series coming up vs Atlanta. Looking forward to going to the game on friday against the Rockies. Ironically I'll be going to coors field next tuesday for the first time while I'm in Denver. If anyone has any advice on good food to try at that stadium let me know
Fortunately the Rockies will be without La Mathieu. Just put on the 10 day disabled list.

Mets vs Braves tonight is a good news/bad news situation. For all the half glass full fans (like myself) Yoenis Cespedes is IN tonight's starting lineup. Injury thumb was not bad.
The bad news is some guy who is the Braves top pitching prospect (Mike Soroka) is making his 1st ML appearance. Syndergaard vs the Rookie. The Mets always seem to struggle with a guy making his debut. Hopefully, they can get it done tonight.

If no contact Rosario had advanced the runners in the ninth Vizcaino's wild pitch scores one run and Flores ground out could have tied the game. Of course, the Braves would have brought the infield in. Who knows if Flores grounders escapes the infield.

St. John's, Mets, Knicks, I often wonder why I can't have nice things. And so, the end begins again, but I should have known.

No way. Doomsday nightmares inflict Mets fans st the last possible second!
This is too early for the Mets to collapse.
We’ll rebound from this minor setback...
Hey, hoping we regroup and go all the way in 2018.
Let’s go Mets!

Edit: So long as DeGrom doesn’t miss too many starts!!!

Senior year of HS and this was finally my year to win the MVP award for the CYO basketball league. Our accountant teacher says last class before break " Ok everyone come back in 1 piece " That following monday in the first game of the season I slipped on water on the court and dislocated my knee so bad people were gagging and they had to put freaking piece of wood like I'm grizzly adams in my mouth because they didnt want me to swallow my tongue in shock from the pain "

Bottom line is I never got the award but my younger brother won it like 4 times. I blame that on being a met fan too even though those were the good years. All that happened is the balance of the universe switched and the negative from the mets went to my knee

That sucks.

As far as cosmic balance goes, 1988 bad thing for Mike Maher resulted in a 1988 good thing for Mike Scioscia. So from a names perspective, equilibrium. From a Mets fan perspective, also equilibrium, because it’s all bad for the Amazin’s.

Uh, the ghosts of 1988. My senior year at St. John's. You left out that we lost to Florida in the NCAA by 3. I was convinced we were going to win. Stayed up late as game was in Salt Lake City. Redmen always got sent west. Boo and Porter in our backcourt. I mean who knew Vernon Maxwell was any good! At least we had bigs, Bross, Williams, Muto and Marco Baldi! :p

I think it is time to release Harvey.
Put Vargas in bullpen and Lugo in rotation.
Release Gonzalez. Put Bruce at 1B and Nimmo in Right.
For the love of God trade for Ramos or Lucroy.

I haven’t chimed in yet on this thread cause time has taught me not to get caught up in Met April euphoria.
Reality is starting to set in being outscored 21-2 in three games to old nemesis Atlanta. The wonder five not so
wonderful, with the two reliable ones now down to one with deGrom now gone to injury (of course) for two months
And the rest of the wonder five not reliable at all. Also the right on schedule Yankees now playing like the Yankees.
Now that is the Met fans reality.

Why am I not surprised by Harvey's after game interview. He actually talked about his positive pitching striking out Acuna. So getting one hitter out but allowing 5 runs, 3 hits and 3 walks is progress. Unlike the excuses by Harvey, I have to give credit to Vargas who admitted to his poor showing even though Gelb gave him an out with some praise from Callaway At least his ERA fell from 22 to 16.LOL..
Matt Harvey refused to be sent to the minors, designated for assignment.
I am glad I am not a Mets' fan - this is both stunning and sad.
