New Mexico (MSG), Sun., Nov. 17, 12 Noon, FS-1

And no one ever said the what I consider the over the top criticism of him regards his talent or physical abilities rather it is highlighting every mistake he makes. I’ll give the board credit for not doing that today but Luis had to play a great game to keep the critics at bay. His play is often times described as dumb while others make the same mistakes and escape that label.

I think it was more about the frequency of his mistakes, not the mistakes individually. The less he makes the better chance of reaching his very high ceiling. This was one of those games but I hope he gets even better.

I actually thought the New Mexico contingent being loud got the St. John’s crowd a little more into it in the second half.

Which is a tad embarrassing but it is what it is, I expect the crowds to get better and better
Their fans had nothing to cheer for after the lineups were announced for the whole first half. So when they cut into the lead a few times in the second they got loud, because wouldn’t you if you paid all that $$ to travel three thousand miles to watch a team you saw get beat pretty handily the first half. And yes that helped get the MSG crowd into the game as did the narrowing of the lead a bit.

Not sure I agree with the crowd being electric. The New Mexico fans were loud a few times. St. John’s fans for the most part are not loud. It’s a little embarrassing at times to me. I want it like that Pitt game again.
This is right. Sec 109 brought it today as always (who’s your daddy) but the arena needs to be much louder, especially at key moments when momentum is in the balance.

A half decent student section would help

You're lucky I was busy today, or I would have been all over him 😘

Their fans were very loud and into it in the first half when we were trading baskets and didn’t get quiet until we finally got up eight and then double digits (up 15 at one point) near the later stages of the half before they went on a run at the end. They got loud again when they kept cutting into our lead in the 2nd half but we would hold them off and get a couple of buckets in a row.

First - Congrats to the Student section for reading this Board and showing up and filling the seats behind the hoop... now all they just gotta learn is how to Cheer! lol... baby steps...

Good crowd for a New Mexico game... if we are top 20 enterying Big East play at MSG... game on

Good atmosphere at the garden today. Even for the Lobos fans that were cleverly disguised in red today! Will say, leaving the garden today, there is a much different energy for this team. It feels like the fanbase is expecting a lot this year. Myself included. A win like this definitely helps. We will know a lot more in 2 weeks, but there is a ton of confidence heading into the Baylor game.

I think some players that had question marks over their heads or were not impressing going into the game, showed their value today. RJ - 7 assists??? They'd better check his locker to make sure this is not an imposter. Zuby looked like the Rutgers Zuby. There was a lot of talk about Kadary being quiet. His play has been invaluable all along, but we wasn't filling the stat sheet. Stuffed it today and was still amazing otherwise. Deivon was Deivon. Arron came through when it got close.
