Boo, I don't care what Zach says about anything. Zach is a local beat writer who's entire job is based on creating articles and topics to get clicks. He's not an expert on predicting the field, I've yet to see him project the NCAA tournament field at a high percentage. I follow the guys that predict brackets for a living and have a 97% or higher success rate. Zach just stirs the pot to get people to signup for his exclusive text messages, where he tells you stuff that you can easily find out yourself for free 😂😂

And my first amendment comment was literally a joke, and in case you couldn't tell 99% of my responses to you are me messing with you and joking, because you get so emotional, and it's funny to me. Go get a drink and relax I'm logging out for a few hours. Enjoy!
But what Zach is saying is a fact, not an opinion

I would give anything to have a guy like Phil Greene right now.
Phil had some nice games, but wouldn't move the meter for this team. I dream bigger. Watching Curbelo makes me long for a PG like Mark Jackson. Protect the ball. Find the open man. Play big in big moments. Make those around you better. Play both ends of the floor, and keep your head in the game at all times.

Of course , who wouldn’t want a Mark Jackson. That’s goes without saying. My point was that Phil Greene while not a star was solid and in my opinion better than Posh, Curbelo, Wusu , Pinzon or Mathis. He could play PG , SG , he could knock down a wide open 3.

Jones is not always going to be the most efficient player in the world, but you can tell, most nights, he'll find a way to get his points.

He has also, IMO, not been given enough credit for his rebounding skills. He and Soriano have been consistent in that area.
This is the best rebounding team we’ve had since CMA has been coach and it’s not even close. Unfortunately, so far it appears to be the most turnover prone team and the worst shooting team in the CMA era.

Missed the game but reading thread comments seems like that was a good thing.

Posh performance is increasingly concerning. Should be leading team and its going other way.

Post game press conference quotes

The team that played tonight will not be dancing. Hopefully they just played down to their opponent. I still don’t think CMA has figured out who should be on the court the same time. Like I said before this team does not have a superstar.

Jones appears to be a victim of the SJU disease that has affected many ballplayers brought in who go from capable three point shooters to bricklayers. You would like to see less threes and more moves to the rim but todays college players know to play anywhere at the next level players need to be able to hit the three.

To be fair he wasn’t exactly lighting it up as a 3 pt shooter at DePaul.

So what's that fact mean? Their SOS sucks in December? ok cool. I don't need Zach to tell me that. Google works just fine on my computer and phone. Zach purpose of mentioning that is to get people to click and read his next article, that's my point.

NET, RPI, Kenpom, Warren, or whatever service you fancy right now is going to be DRASTICALLY different in March than it is in December. SOS doesn't mean crap right now. Most teams haven't even played a conference game yet. By the end of conference SOS rankings will be unrecognizable to what they are today. For Example Texas is the #2 ranked team in the nation, their current SOS is 268. Lundardi has them projected as a 1 seed in the NCAA tournament. Would Lunardi project Texas as a 1 seed, if he thought their SOS in March was going to be 268?

Me personally I just think it's getting old and tired complaining about the same stuff in every thread, SOS sucks we know, it's been discussed all off-season and during every thread. But, schedule ain't changing now, all they can do is win the games on the schedule. Now, come March, if they got 22 wins and miss the tournament because there wasn't a single quality win in the non-conference, then by all means pull out the torches, but we don't know what the SOS will be in March, so why worry about it now?

I am not fortunate enough to be able to watch the game but I certainly follow the thread and pay special attention to certain posters comments who I feel understand the game well.
You can sugarcoat this low ranked victory as much as you want and I say that with respect however I certainly don’t see it that way.
Whether Mathis and Stanley played or not should have zero bearing on the outcome of this game. We have ten times more talent than UNH. Ten times and not an iota less. Posh, Curbelo, Jones, Storr etc are all highly ranked players whom a school like UNH cannot even sniff at in recruiting. We are an upperclassman team, Soriano a senior, Posh, Curbelo, Wusu, Jones are juniors , there is just no excuse to beat UNH by only 13. You say they came out flat after a big win, I say a hungry team where guts are fighting for minutes should have stepped on the oppositions neck and blown them out of the gym.
Right now it seems pretty evident that the sum of the team is much less than the individual talent.
The talent, the ingredients, are there and it is up to the conductor, the chef, the coach, to get the best out of the talent he has.
Sorry but like Jack Williams, who is wise beyond his years, I am just not feeling good about this team right now.
And I don’t want to be a broken record but 4 months ago I watched my sons McGill University team lose to Florida State by 16. They went on to lose to Vermont by 9 and Oregon by 52 to provide a comparison. I stand by what I said that I will be very disappointed if we lose to FSU next Saturday.

Not to be rude, but man this was hard to read without paragraphs, you got a lot of stuff running together.

Also, not sure where I sugarcoated anything. Please read my posts throughout this thread and then get back to me. I was very critical of the play all throughout the game. After the win, said I was happy they won, offense sucked, defense kept them from getting blown out. Seemed like a game they weren't excited to play after getting so hype for the start of conference play. If that's sugarcoating, I'm guilty, lock me up!

Except, our offense is never there, and I believe you can have off-nights defensively, as well. Certainly, you can have nights where you play good d, but the other team plays better O.

Just about all the good teams defend well. The ones that are great are the ones who best execute offensively, especially late in close games. I don't believe that can just come off of defense, either. It's been my big criticism of Anderson since day one.

I thought the offense was good against DePaul. Scored 86 points, shot 50% from the field as a team, made almost 80% from the line and had 17 assist to 12 turnovers. They average those numbers in conference they'll be dancing. Only negative was the 3 point shooting at 27%. Less 3's and more dumping to Soriano and getting the old school 3 point play fixes that. David Jones is also good drawing fouls and getting 3 point plays.

Yes, for the most part, we did a good job in that game. Today, we did a bad job.

Obviously, we're probably somewhere in between those performances, but there's been more bad than good so far, especially in the halfcourt.

I'll take 10-1 and so called bad performances. Most teams get better as the season goes on, so hey if they can just go from bad to mediocre performances the sky is the limit. ;)
