Hard to think negatively after a win. I don't see how some of you guys stay so upset all time... It's a win, enjoy it and relax. Both my college teams won, I'm headed to the bar now to get drunk and watch the Golden State/ Boston game. All is good!

I'm going to keep going Boo! First amendment got my back
First amendment doesn’t apply to a message board, lol.

I agree. This was not a good performance, but I know we're not THIS bad. You're never quite as bad as you look when at your worst, and we were at our worst today.

That being said, Jack Williams may have a point. We may just not be a great TEAM. If you had a dispersal draft of this team, and all these guys went to different schools, we might be lamenting them as players who got away.

We do appear to be making strides on defense. We just need to be better at turning but into offense.

Offense is not going to not be there some nights, defense is something you can bring every single night. Creighton, who I think is one of, if not the best 3 pointing shooting team in college basketball went 10/40 the other night. If offense ain't working, play good defense, get to the foul line more than your opponent is another way to win. I'd rather be a team that sucks at shooting 3's but can play defense and make free throws. Free throw shooting and making late game stops is what kept them from the tournament last year IMO.

I am not fortunate enough to be able to watch the game but I certainly follow the thread and pay special attention to certain posters comments who I feel understand the game well.
You can sugarcoat this low ranked victory as much as you want and I say that with respect however I certainly don’t see it that way.
Whether Mathis and Stanley played or not should have zero bearing on the outcome of this game. We have ten times more talent than UNH. Ten times and not an iota less. Posh, Curbelo, Jones, Storr etc are all highly ranked players whom a school like UNH cannot even sniff at in recruiting. We are an upperclassman team, Soriano a senior, Posh, Curbelo, Wusu, Jones are juniors , there is just no excuse to beat UNH by only 13. You say they came out flat after a big win, I say a hungry team where guts are fighting for minutes should have stepped on the oppositions neck and blown them out of the gym.
Right now it seems pretty evident that the sum of the team is much less than the individual talent.
The talent, the ingredients, are there and it is up to the conductor, the chef, the coach, to get the best out of the talent he has.
Sorry but like Jack Williams, who is wise beyond his years, I am just not feeling good about this team right now.
And I don’t want to be a broken record but 4 months ago I watched my sons McGill University team lose to Florida State by 16. They went on to lose to Vermont by 9 and Oregon by 52 to provide a comparison. I stand by what I said that I will be very disappointed if we lose to FSU next Saturday.

Except, our offense is never there, and I believe you can have off-nights defensively, as well. Certainly, you can have nights where you play good d, but the other team plays better O.

Just about all the good teams defend well. The ones that are great are the ones who best execute offensively, especially late in close games. I don't believe that can just come off of defense, either. It's been my big criticism of Anderson since day one.

If this were one game, I could overlook it. But there have been troubling signs all year. As Paultz’s post illustrates, our schedule is one of the worst in the country and we’ve looked lousy in most of our games. The only half decent team we played blew our doors off.

Maybe we’ll catch fire and turn the ship around, but any objective person whose watched our games thus far would be extremely skeptical.

Boo, I don't care what Zach says about anything. Zach is a local beat writer who's entire job is based on creating articles and topics to get clicks. He's not an expert on predicting the field, I've yet to see him project the NCAA tournament field at a high percentage. I follow the guys that predict brackets for a living and have a 97% or higher success rate. Zach just stirs the pot to get people to signup for his exclusive text messages, where he tells you stuff that you can easily find out yourself for free 😂😂

And my first amendment comment was literally a joke, and in case you couldn't tell 99% of my responses to you are me messing with you and joking, because you get so emotional, and it's funny to me. Go get a drink and relax I'm logging out for a few hours. Enjoy!

I thought this was Posh worst game in johnny uniform
He can’t shoot threes
In the past he was fine inside the arc. Right now he is letting that affect the entire game.
Simply do what he can do, don’t shoot threes. The problem is he thinks he needs to make threes to play in the NBA so he is going to keep taking them and then get frustrated with his inability to make them.

We don’t just suck at shooting threes Making Plays. We suck at shooting from the floor in general. I’ve said this before , I don’t care how good of a team we are defensively if you don’t make shots you can’t win consistently. It’s not just about how athletic a kid is or how hard he plays. Give me guys who knock down shots any day over any other skill set. Talk down Creighton all you want for going 10/40 from three one game. Creighton will finish first or second in this league and be no worse than a 4 seed in the tournament. Also, as long as they can shoot the way they do most nights, they can make a run in March. We have absolutely no shot to make a run at anything just because we play defense and most of the time shoot free throws well. We can’t score from the floor in the half court. That’s extremely disheartening considering the level of the league that we play in. The fact that at our level of competition we have no knockdown shooters is disgraceful. Every team from a major conference regardless of their ranking has guys who shoot. It seems we are the only team that doesn’t. Give me shooters any day and I will figure the rest out as a coach. The whole object of the game is to put the ball in the basket. We can’t do that. How many layups do we miss?? This is not a good team right now. Hopefully, something changes.

Need to stop playing Posh and Curbelo together. Let them split the game basically. You can play them together for short periods of time in certain situations but not that much.
I'm starting to lean towards that way of thinking, although defensively they seem to mesh. I don't know how they would respond to it, though.

UCONN is having success doing that very thing, for the most part, with Sonogo and Clingan. Of course, it's easier with big men, because of foul trouble.

I have been saying this all season and will keep saying it;
Posh and Curbelo are a bad combination in the backcourt! Posh has lost his identity on this team. He is not a 2 guard because he is a poor outside shooter (shot ZERO % today) and while Curbelo has the passing ability to be a better point guard than Posh, he is undisciplined and reckless with the ball. Together they had 7 points but the 6 turnovers negated those points. Depending on what happens with the FSU game, one will likely be coming off the bench until they get their game up to par.

Jones scored points today but was mostly ineffective at defense and should limit his threes and take more mid-range shots to be efficient in the offense.

Our coach needs to school these guys on sharing the ball, setting up plays for our big forwards like Nyiwe and end the over-penetrations by our guards.

A big disappointment is the regression of both Wusu and Posh and hopefully they get their games under control because we need both to play up to last year's caliber to have any chance to dance.

The UNH kids played a good game and they have a good veteran coach and they followed their game plan perfectly. We, on the other hand, are St. John's.

The team needs a “players only” meeting during which the team needs to call out Curbelo and he needs to apologize for behavior unbecoming a teammate.

He got pulled, sulked on the bench, threw his hands in the air when CMA called his number and then acted like he didn’t want to be on the court including walking back on defense = at which point he was pulled again. Left huddle to put his shirt and sweats on. Not the look of a good teammate.

I believe his ball handling and passing can transform the team but I think his attitude and penchant for flirting with the dangerous play neutralizes the positives.

Hoping he and Posh can find a winning formula but not sure that current roles are going to work Perhaps they need to switch PG/SG roles or Curbelo come off bench. Right now, Posh is frustrated.

Do you think Creighton is good? They beat Creighton on the road by 10, a team that St. John's blew out. Nebraska also just went into OT and lost today against #4 Purdue. I still think Johnnies can finish anywhere in the 3rd - 6th range in conference. It's pretty much UConn and everybody else right now, no other Big East team is lighting it up either. Every other team other than UConn and Xavier have had these type of showings against cupcakes.
Big East is going to be down this year, so wide open. Aside from UConn even Creighton is not for sure better than us. My opinion is that Creighton is better, but who knows?
