I think I saw Mil Mascaras no-sell the Red Blaze 45 years ago at the Los Angeles Forum. Beat him in a mask vs. mask match, thus derailing a promising career for the Red Blaze.Red Blaze or Red Blazers.
They got so many shooters now and will be on fire shooting the rock.
Better check each players hands after each game just to make sure that no one has 2nd or 3rd degree burns.
It just hit me for some reason that I can't quite put my finger on that the St. John's Firestorms is a name I could completely get behind.I'm with you, brother! It is, ahem, "red-undant". I'm all for keeping red in the team colors. There is no need to include it in the name.

I would take any of the following (in no particular order):
1. Red Sea — it is biblical and Pitino is SJU’s Moses.
2. Redbirds — I know it is taken already, but it is a tribute to the old red NYC subway cars.
3. Red Coats — Embrace being the college basketball enemy. Before each game have a guy run out on the floor yelling “The Red Coats are coming”.
4. Red Johnnies — Fans chant “Let’s Go Johnnies” already.
5. Red Ferrari — Everyone loves a red Ferrari.
6. Redrum — Have the player introductions lead off with the line “Here’s Johnny”.

Perfect. Instead of bringing back flag boy, the school can audition students who can look and imitate the Jack Torrence character the best.

Look at how many marketable ideas the red.fans brain trust has come up with in this thread, without the university having to spend a dime.
The seatbacks were added to parts of the upper bleachers before the 2022-23 season with no additional ticket charge.Real nice design...now please work on comfort seating for those of us north of 200lbs and/or over 50 years old and/or taller than 6'
It is what it is, and I agree on the five games part, and also on not doing much now. Personally, I believe the "seatbacks" installed made things worse as the legroom shifted from appropriate for a small child to appropriate for a toddler. But I also know they got a ton of heat to do "something" regarding seatbacks. I will say with a more crowded Carnesecca anyone who was getting back pain from no seatbacks will now get it from being kicked in the back. It can't be avoided. The seatbacks were added to parts of the upper bleachers before the 2022-23 season with no additional ticket charge.
They did the best they could do because the upper bleacher sections at CA are made of cement so there is limited space and the existing seatbacks on one side of the courtside seats would not fit.
The other courtside bleacher section collapses and folds, so seatbacks are not possible.
Before it gets asked again, Cragg looked into improving cooling at upper levels as games wear. With the current configuration also not possible.
With only 5 games at CA, it really doesn't make a lot of sense to invedt the money in an arena makeover. Villanova had plans to tear down the pavillion and build a new larger on campus atena but with too much community pushback, did a $60 million renovation, all from donations and without expanding seating.
While the basketball facility project focus has slowed to NIL and short stays due to the transfer portal mobility, I'm not sure that mass improvements to CA will be forthcoming. It would be nice tbough to have better food and beverage quality at concession stands.
