Yup, a killer loss. FAU led most of the game, then i think SDST tightened its D and FAU went flat, and SDST had those miraculous bounces off the basket and benefited from some strange Ref calls.
Still thought they'd pull it out, but exciting hoops no matter what if you don't have a horse running. Lol.
Agree. I will also be passively rooting for Pukon only because that would elevate the status of the Big East even more. But if they lose to SDSU, I will not be upset.
Obviously UConn has beaten everyone so far by double digits and displaying tremendous power inside with inside out kicks to their skilled shooters so likely they win imo. That said SD State D is outstanding, they have battle tested roster & a very good HC. Rooting for SD St!

I detest UCONN too, but you’re right. If UCONN wins it will be huge for the Big East and for St John’s because we have the best game and player development coach in the conference now…..it’s not even close.
You mean future players will identify UConn with national prominence.
FAU made the final four, but I doubt Middle Tennessee State reaps any rewards with future recruiting.
IMHO The Big East will be fine regardless of the results of tonight's championship game.
Personally I hate UConn (especially when they had the whiny Jim Calhoun as their Head Coach) and their fans are pretty hard to take too. I never felt that we should have let them back in the Big East and they probably will act as an opportunist and leave the conference when they have a chance for perceived greener pastures. That said, they are likely going to blow out San Diego State, just like they blew out their previous five opponents in this year's tourney.
Perhaps I can fool myself into rooting for the Huskies by placing a nice sized wager on them giving the 7.5 point spread. My heart won't be in it, but perhaps my wallet can influence my head.
With all the bad karma I have connected with UConn they will probably win a close game and not cover the spread. The classic double burn!

Just noticed it's a 9:20 PM start time here on the East Coast. My biggest challenge will be staying awake for the whole game! 
We’ve probably had this conversation the last several years. The 9:20 start time is ridiculous. West Coast or not why not 8:30 or 9 which would put both markets finishing at a more reasonable time. My rational 'self' tells me you're right about this.
My guttural 'self' says r'hell with UCONN!...and 'rationalizes' that most of the bene's will flow to UCONN in attracting recruits, Nil-$$'s, and create an even more hostile / crude UCONN fan base--if that's even possible to imagine. Lol.

It’s not a football game LOL even with 9:20 start time should be over by 11:30ish.
I wish but no way will it be over by 11:30ish. There are so many more commercials and ads. The timeouts are so much longer to accommodate them. And halftime is even longer so all the pundits can opine. I say the game ends at 12:15 or so.
