Happy to see a Big East team in the FF. Take that BE haters.

How about a National Title to boost the conference a few more notches?

Coach Wright finally gets the big win that has eluded him for quite a while.

Gotta say I love this Nova team. Terrific chemistry, no egos, no superstars -- they personify team play, and it was exhilarating to see them maintain their composure at crunch time and nail it down. Plus Jay Wright is a class act. As for Arcidiacono, this kid has really impressed this season, and tonight was another example of his headiness, his high b-ball IQ, and his leadership ... plus his being money in the bank from the FT line down the stretch. And as noted by others, a great win -- and an important win -- for the Big East.

I need you guys to all root for Notre Dame to win it all, because if that happens I could still win first place in my pool despite my champ going out in round 2.

You're joking about rooting for Notre Dame to win a national championship, right LJSA? Please tell me you are.

They shot an unbelievable 18 for 19 from the line.

God, I have a single wish before I die. Let me see Villanova beat SU in the finals for the championship thus affirming the strength of the Big East gene pool now and for the last 40 years, for taking a few bucks from the guys who left us for a couple of million each and a bowl of soup in the ACC, and, finally re-living the dancing in the streets in 1985 with the only folks who would give us a ride to and from the finals in Lexington Ky. Villanova people reached out to StJ to join them to and from the finals as the only possible people in the world who would root for them. They must have been 30 pt. underdogs. My then 17 year old son, Kevin, and I have wonderful memories of Villanova's after party celebrating the biggest upset in NCAA history. They always have been great people.
"Veeee for Villanova; Veee for Victory!" Go Big East!!!

Huh? Your single wish before you die is to see Villanova beat St. John's in the NCAA finals? Am I missing something, oldfan?

EDIT: Correction & apology, oldfan! As redstorm89 pointed out in the following post, you were referring to "SU" (the much-hated Syracuse) not "SJU," which is how my tired eyes read it. I knew I had to be misunderstanding your post, given your long-time passion for St. John's ... and I was right. Guess I'm just spent from tonight big win, and hence the misreading. Again, mea culpa. (And for the record, I've always respected the Villanova program.)

I think he meant su as in cuse. But in the future maybe a St. John's nova final?

Nope, not at all. Although Syracuse winning it all will work as well.

Money means more to me than a BE school not named St. John's winning a championship.

Thanks for the correction!!! As I noted in the edit I just made to my original post, I'm drained from watching tonight's game (wanted it so badly) and misread the SU for SJU. Knowing how passionate oldfan61 is about St. John's basketball, I was confounded by what I misread. (And to think, all I had to drink tonight was a bottle of O'Douls!)

Gotcha, but Notre Dame ... and now Syracuse?!!! I suppose the only comfort I'll get if either wins is knowing that you'll be raking in the money. :)

Lon Kruger is a helluva coach

As, I said on the other board (a couple weeks ago), he's won everywhere he's coached, collegiately. The only place he didn't win was with the Atlanta Hawks (NBA, of course).

He has taken four different teams to the Elite 8 (three schools to Sweet 16's), and two different squads to the Final Four. Pretty sound.

Dink, howd did he manage to get a bye to that one elite 8 :p

Of course if one of those teams wins it all and I end up in third place anyway I am going to be beyond pissed.

This sums it up......

Stewart Mandel ‏@slmandel
The Big East imploded, started over from scratch and still got back to the Final Four before the Pac-12.

This is Jay's second Final Four 2009. Not too shabby.

Not too shabby at all! Yet he has been criticized quite a bit for early exits. Meanwhile we still sit and wait just to be back as a perennial NCAA team rather than once in every blue moon sandwiched between mediocre/awful seasons.

Yes, I will say it: Thank you Michael Jordan!

Where is ccnobz at? Bet Nova, Oklahoma and UNC before the tournament. Obviously put a few extra on UNC bc of odds but I'd take down around 2,100 for either of the 3.

Stupid of me to bet a few hundred on UVA at +350? Only risk I'd assume is Notre Dame and that shit program in the boonies
