Bennett out COACHED big time

Agree 100%. He lost the game with his poor substitutions. Toby should have been in place of Gill who was terrible. Thompson was a spark, scoring 9 points in a short span and doesn't get back in the game. Yet Bennett goes with useless Wilkens who can't shoot or pass. Brogdan on the high post and Toby down low were hard to stop so why use Wilkens and Gill at the latter part of the game.
Their man defense fell apart once Cuse made successful drives to the basket. Richardson was unstoppable unfortunately.

This has been one hell of an exciting tournament with comebacks, buzzer beaters OT and the like. Mno super team anyone can win. In other words, just like some of the professional sport leagues lately,

If there was any doubt, today's game reminds me that there is no team in the country I dislike more than Syracuse. Couldn't be happier to see UVA sticking it to them.
PE much? :)

Just goes to show you that there are very few great teams in this tournament. If Syracuse can make the final 4, it's a pretty weak field. In fact, they should never have been in the field in the first place.

Total sour grapes plus they beat Gonzaga which St John's never does

sour grapes??? 20-13 is NCAA Tourny worthy?
For us that's NIT, only teams like Syracuse get favors

We all know what karma is...

Should have waited for the final rather than posting at the half. Now I just hate them more.

Yes it's sour grapes to keep harping on it at this point. 20-13 Tourny worthy, hey the one Gotweed comment that I thought was a good one was that any team that lost to St. John's shouldn't be in the Tourny so IMHO they didn't deserve it but neither did Pitt and maybe one or two others.

It's hard to complain about us not being able to get the benefit of the doubt as a bubble team when we have been to the Tourny four times this decade and never on the bubble.

Hate them, root against them but they are where we wish we were. They have made it to the Final Four as a ten seed which includes beating a one seed.

I kept telling my wife that there was no way they were coming back.

Cuse, women in Final four also, wow upstate school killing it. ACC or not

Who really cares about the women's tournament?

The only interest on that side is looking to see if Geno can win by 100 points. He's come pretty close. The guy has his team chucking threes up by 60 plus.

Well I believe that UCONN is only other school to have both teams in Final Four at same time unless UCLA did also years back

UCONN is the only program to have both teams win the national title in the same year (which they've done twice), but sending both teams to the final four has actually been done 12 times (including Cuse).

Villanova makes it to their 4th final four and second in 8 seasons. Only 20 schools have gone to more final fours. When the final buzzer sounded, their President rushed the court like a student and bear hugged players.

Villanova is a small school (6500 students or so), and run a clean program. I used to think Archidiacono was overrated, but watching him play over the past 4 years, I am starting to think he is underrated. The kid is a winner through and through, and will whatever it takes to win. Like St. John's they embody what the Big East is. Congrats to coach Wright and their entire school.

Not only did Nova hire the right guy way back when, they also hired a guy who wasn't looking to leave for greener pastures.

I was mildly surprised that Beast didn't write about the impact getting to The Final 4 will have on applications, which it most certainly will.

Not sure of the year, but in one year they had tremendous NCAA success, went to the Common App, and the business school broke through the top 15. Their applications went from about 7500 to over 22,000.

A lot of guys hate when I post about them, but they have great leadership, and pay Jay Wright about as much as they can reasonably afford to without a salary battle. They were able to select Father Peter from a pool of only 7 Augustinian applicants, and after (the late) Father Edmund Dobbin loaded the bases, Father Peter hits lines drives off and over the wall. SJU should only be so lucky to have charismatic, warm, yet tough leadership such as that. Villanova is a model for what every Catholic University should be - academically they are highly competitive, exceptionally supportive Alumni donor base, and really good athletic teams. Throw in a continually beautified campus and surrounding communities, and it's a great place for any kid to attend.

Not ashamed to admit that I have always rooted for Nova. Brother and fiancé both graduated from there. Mother would leave father for Jay Wright in a second.

I have been hard on Arcidiacono (used to call him pizzaface) over the years, but considering this is his last year and this season has been a wash for us...I have to echo those sentiments on here from Beast. Really been a joy to watch them make a run. Reminds me of the team they had with Reynolds, Fisher, Dwayne Anderson, I believe Cunningham was still there as well. They are even more cohesive and balanced than that '09 team.

And Bridges is hands down the #1 reason behind this run. His development added a dimension to this team that put them over IMO. Freakishly athletic, can defend the perimeter with the best of them and runs the open court like a gazelle.
