If we had oats, we win on Wednesday.
If we had him I don't think we would have played on Wednesday. And I'm not trying to start more anti-Mullin stuff here. I just think Oats is hell of a coach.
During the season I didn’t go crazy over the Oats mentions on here just cause there were still games being played.
But I do think he’d be the best option to coach St. John’s next. He’s not a freak like the Hurleys, and the myth that he’s been winning with Hurley’s players has been disproven.
The best thing about Oats I think is that he’s recruited and won with players that aren’t that highly rated. Which is something I think St. John’s needs to do. Stop shooting for 5 stars and find a niche in the 150-300 range of recruits
I wouldn't get my hopes up, but this has already been a tougher test then I thought Duke would get in this game, regardless of whatever the final score eventually is.
Iona up by 8 on UNC, under 4 TO of the first half.
I thought this would be a bad game for Cluess and company, because UNC basically plays the same game they do, just with better players. However, Iona has been in control so far.

LSU from early on got him into a conditioning and nutritional program & agree he’s in great shape and much quicker.
Wofford got a really bad call - phantom foul and Kentucky made both shots. Game over. Oh well, thought I had a shot with this one.
Kentucky looked unimpressive as they often do. Wofford cpild throw the ball in the ocean and almost won. That kid who went 0-12 from 3 took some horrible off-balance shots.

And it wasn't the only game so far that may have been decided by a guy who should have stopped shooting.
After watching so much St. John's basketball, it's refreshing to see these teams playing the inside/outside game on offense. Getting the ball in the paint to a guy that is a threat to score or pass out, makes a huge difference.
Pretty impressive effort by Wofford to have the all time leading three point shooter go 0-12 and still be in the game with less then a minute left.
The same player who couldn't miss vs Seton Hall. I had Wofford +5.
Watched some of Lipscomb beating of UNCG and their unathletic big who shot 12-13 from the field for 24 points to late in the game on a variety of pivot moves. What is that?
