Whatever, that substantiates your original speculation about Heron feeling threatened w/o a doubt....I'll leave it there.
What’s wrong with you? Where did I say that he was threatened? I said I wonder if it factored into his decision based on all the other talent 2-4 already there. Auburn has ten guys that play 10.8 mpg or more.

Auburn is objectively better without Heron. He had to feel his role being squeezed as it was with Dunbar and Okefe last year joining Bruce Brown and Harper. Would you want another good player at your position added to that?

Doughty is the fourth leading scorer on an elite eight team (ahead of two top 70 RSCI recruits and a projected second round pick) and Heron didn’t even get named to a Big East honor roll.

Here’s some light reading for you: https://www.google.com/amp/s/2...s-been-a-silent-MVP-for-Auburn-126237101/Amp/

Bruce Pearl on Doughty: “He does a little bit of everything, which is why his teams win. He doesn’t require to have to score the ball for his teams to win. He can have zero points and his teams can still win because he’s playing defense, communicating, has great energy. He’s doing a lot of things that show up on the stat sheet but don’t produce into his points. His teams work because he’s such a great team player and he makes so many winning plays.”
Better without Heron? Because heron is gone? Guess the two talented bigs who couldn't play last year and sat out Wiley and Purifoy have nothing to do with their improvement. Biggest difference is substituting Doughty for Heron I guess.

Only thing Heron should be afraid of is a set defender under the basket waiting for him to drive.

Samir Doughty? Come on marillac. You are better than this

Long day today - admitted student college visit with my son, drive home and trying to stay awake for Duke game. No disrespect intended, just tired and your theory didn't make sense to me. Maybe it will tomorrow.

Marillac, I read your post and supporting article/data with the benefit of a good night's sleep. While I still don't agree that Doughty's upcoming eligibility had anything to do with his decision to transfer to St. John's (clearly that was a family illness based decision and St. John's appeared the best fit of the limited number of Div I schools that satisfied the geographical proximity requirement), I do see that Doughty has apparently had a better year for Auburn than I'd realized. I saw him play a bit in the A-10 with VCU two years ago including once against SJU and in person against Davidson and he was very unimpressive both times (shot 40% and 28% from three that year). He has clearly improved and become a valuable member of a very good team. Auburn is one of the deeper teams I've seen this year, as witnessed by fact their 4th through 7th leading scorers are within a half point of each other.

Ct kid who came close to going to Georgetown until Will Wade arrived on scene.
Waters was actually a hard commit to Georgetown until the fallout of JT3. The kid saw the writing on the wall and decommitted right before the end of that particular season.

I know we were never in the running for Naz Reid and I recall there were mixed feelings on how good he'd be in college, but I have seen him play several times this year and he is an absolute load. Averaged 14 and 7 as a frosh for top 10 team and is just huge matchup problem.
There is a story about his in home visit that got cancelled that is both funny and shows the dysfunction of this staff...
It can't be worse than Sid Wilson's visit, or Femi's. Or Dort not know the name of the coach recruiting him. Or Curbelo not hearing from the HC. Or the other possible transfer who's name escapes me.

These last few posts showing the level of incompetence are absolutely sad to read. Too bad Mike Cragg is unaware of this situation as it would provide him with an increased level of insight as to what has transpired the last 2 years.

What a shame;
Auburn coach Bruce Pearl says Chuma Okeke has torn ACL and will have surgery on Tuesday. #ncaatournament
Per John Clay

That is a shame about Okeke. Looked bad when he went down, but was hopeful when he walked off.
Missed first half of TT Gonzaga game Looks like it will be a barn burner.

I think you must have me confused with someone else.

Lol nah, just saying.

Owens playing well - getting his chance to play under the lights. Texas Tech so well coached. I like Zags a lot, but will root for whoever wins this game going forward.

Really have to admire TT. Play very tough D and smart on O. Really value the ball and wait for the good shot. Giving Gonzaga a super tough time tonight and forcing them to turn the ball over far more than normal. A hell of a Coach Chris Beard.

If you look at Beard's track record its surprising it took him so long to get a HC job. He was Knight assistant for years. But then went to extreme small time basketball.
