NCAA Tournament 2022

Man Marquette and Seton Hall with two awful 8/9 game performances.

Good thing Creighton rallied down double digits last night or it would have been 0-3 in the 8/9 games.

Never thought Seton Hall would go anywhere but home -- you saw what we did to them.

Ha yeah I knew they were terrible but I still picked em in my bracket out of misguided big East pride. My general rule is any team that loses to us ain’t gonna anywhere but I guess St Peters proved that wrong.

Our terrible out of conference schedule looks a little better with St. Peter's knocking off Kentucky and Colgate giving Wisconsin hell right now.

Anderson's hoping these games raise our NET.

Isaiah Whitehead

@isaiahwhitehead
as much as I want to say this is cool it’s not! watched a 15 seed play as hard as they could and win a game yesterday they had no business being in! we have zero effort out there it’s that simple!

Can we still make the Big Dance?

I don't think we would have looked worse than some of the teams I've seen so far.

Or does their success just magnify how those teams improved while other teams did not?

Always liked Charlie Moore and like him even more since I had Miami in both of my brackets.

Have them in the elite 8. Guards like him can make the difference in this tourney. Him vs Auburns guards, I’ll take him.

The Drew Valentine love is crazy IMO. Wait until he’s gotta recruit and coach his own team. If he finishes 6Th in the a10 next year will we ever hear about him again?

Seton hall an embarrassment to Big East. Everyone on willards nuts on this board (Cooley too). They embarrass us in tourney every year. In old big East they would just be also-rans every year.

Willard has improved IMO as a head coach, but I've always believed he's been overrated by some on this board (Providence included). I think it's due to how we've fared over the past several years or so.

If Maryland truly wants Willard then he better run to College Park while he has the opportunity.
I always find it amusing how certain posters have the need to put down the Hall any time they make a mis step as in this tourney. Of course no one mentions that their lead guard and 14ppg scorer was lost mid season which would be the equivalent of St. John’s losing Posh.

Maybe , as you point out, St. John’s lack of success over the past several years has magnified their success but one must acknowledge that in a tough Big East conference the Hall has made the Dance 5 out of the last 6 times. If any St Johns coach were to do that, there would be another statue next to Looie’s in his honor.

As I said a few weeks ago, I just did not see BE teams doing much damage in Dance. Looks like PC has good chance to advance one more round,. I could see Nova having a tough challenge with Ohio State’s size and defense & their own lack of depth, but certainly can win. Kansas will be too much for gritty, well coached Creighton. I love the competitive Big East, but also feel as Mase and a few noted, the League loses a lot of players next year as well. We’ll see how rosters pan out with transfers, but could be another challenging 22-23 season re Dance chances to make noise. On that I am way ahead of myself and we’ll see.
