NCAA Breakdown & Matchups
My Granddaughter just got her acceptance letter from Nova yesterday . i would like the Cats to go all the way . But, as I remind her , the Redman are 1 of only 4 teams to beat the Cats this year . Brunson and Spellman had monster games . Bridges a good game but, less than what you expect from him. DiVenchinzo had a tough game with WV defense and press . He really struggled . Ever onward , Cats .
Congrats on your granddaughter.

West Virginia falling apart here in the second half. Had a 6pt lead now down 5 in like 2 min
Don't think W Virginia fell apart more like Nova played great and went on one of their typical scoring runs where they start hitting everything.

With Purdue gone I guess I'm all in on a Loyola-Villanova championship.

After all the craziness, I will be so pissed if it ends up being Michigan-Duke.

Big 12 still alive to get three teams in the Final Four. Something to root against.

I was surprised that Syracuse was so ineffective against a Zone Defense they practice against every Day . Most of the Game , they looked as dazed against Duke as most teams do against the Orange . Duke playing Zone is part of the new Coach K . That and the fact he has turned his Program into Kentucky clone of 1 and done .

Bet she would get out and recruit more.

Just have to love these kids from Loyola! They play hoops the way I'd love to see our guys play it. Final Four looking likely!

Maybe Commissioner Val can figure out a way to trade DePaul and Mitch Richmond for Loyola?

DePaul should figure out how to hire the Loyola coach. Mitch Richmond should just stay in California.

Incredible performance in the Dance! Who wulda thunk!!! Still haven’t checked how many ‘stars’ these guys wore outta HS, but playing like studs!!
Interesting that 7 of 8 of their highest scorers Hit the 3-pt shot at a 35% - 46% clip.. Krutwig has not taken a 3 during season.
On to the Final Four!
Sister Jean’s ‘Wishful Bracket’ May prove out!!!

Playing with house $$ now. Win or lose Loyola guys will never forget getting to Final 4. Great story! Best sporting event out there for this very example.

One day we will experience again what Loyola fans are experiencing today! Let's get with Coach Mullin & staff. They need to get us to the Dance next year and we should all be hoping they will.

The great JPM’s favorite hustler in Tourney per Jerry Carino

Marques Townes: 13 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists for Loyola.
By my count, the 3rd St. Joes-Metuchen NJ alum to play in a Final Four, joining Jay Williams and Karl Towns.

What a season these kids from Loyola are having. A bunch of 6’3” 2 Star recruits.

Just waiting for someone to go there. Fact is if you were a DePaul fan and they hired Moser before this year you would have been off the charts negative. Before the current 32-5 this year he had been a head coach for 13 years with 6 winning seasons, 3 in his last 10. Never finished higher than 5th in any year in 3 different conferences. Best record before this year was 24-13 which included winning the post season CBI tournament. Lifetime record of 194-206, 140-172 in his last ten. This is his 7th year at Loyola where he was 89-105 until this year with two winning seasons out of his first six. So you see you would have long spent the last few years demanding he be fired or sarcastically mocking him. Like it or not, it is hard, it takes time, it takes loyalty and conviction. And by the way, two of his very key players, Townes and Custer, are transfers.

And his first year at Loyola they went 1-17 in conference if that sounds familiar. Year 4 was the CBI year and this is year 7.

Also Custer is the only top 200 player on the roster out of high school.

A great , great Win for Loyola Chicago . Let them receive the plaudits they earned . Dumping on DePaul and Coach Richmond isn’t appropriate . The Ramblers showed that a team with 5 Basketball Players , all whom can drain a shot , can beat teams with better athletes , although the Loyola kids are underrated for how Athletic they are . The 2 Kansas kids were 4 Star players and was it Custer who played at Iowa State ? If so , Matt A must have been involved . Richardson and Custer were HS Teammates and went there separate ways . Custer then Transferred to Loyola , where Richardson was already . The Big Kid , Curwig, a freshman , doesn’t have the body that would attract many College Offers but, he can play ! Both, Webber and Barkley loved the kid . Maybe we should start looking for kids who know what to do with the Ball , instead of just jumping over buildings . Yakwe comes to mind . But, this tournament shows how important it is to have a Back to the basket post player to be a Winner . I hope Mullin and the Staff are in pursuit of one . We need one .
