Big 12 still alive to get three teams in the Final Four. Something to root against.
And we’re safe for another year!!! I feel like the Miami Dolphins from the 70s that celebrate each year when the last undefeated team goes down.

DePaul should figure out how to hire the Loyola coach. Mitch Richmond should just stay in California.
Just waiting for someone to go there. Fact is if you were a DePaul fan and they hired Moser before this year you would have been off the charts negative. Before the current 32-5 this year he had been a head coach for 13 years with 6 winning seasons, 3 in his last 10. Never finished higher than 5th in any year in 3 different conferences. Best record before this year was 24-13 which included winning the post season CBI tournament. Lifetime record of 194-206, 140-172 in his last ten. This is his 7th year at Loyola where he was 89-105 until this year with two winning seasons out of his first six. So you see you would have long spent the last few years demanding he be fired or sarcastically mocking him. Like it or not, it is hard, it takes time, it takes loyalty and conviction. And by the way, two of his very key players, Townes and Custer, are transfers.
Great post

Ironically, you are the same basketball analytical genius that completely discounts Steve Lavin's overall record at just two fckg schools!
NINE post season appearances in ELEVEN years.
FIVE Sweet 16's.
You're the same guy that knocked him for ruining the St. John's season by getting cancer and ridiculed him for taking time off in the middle of the season to mourn his dad in California.
You're a real humanitarian!
While you were busy knocking Porter Moser going back to the year gimel, you could have just focused on his past 4 years where he had winning records 3 out of the past four. While you were at it, you could have pointed out that this year he and his small team have played inspired basketball with a roster that not only includes 2 transfers but 8 freshmen and sophomores. Question to you: how many players left Coach Moser these past two years. How many left Chris Mullin?
Let's stop knocking coaches that have had success in winning basketball while making excuses for our 3 years of losing more than winning. I don't expect Mullin to get to the Final Four next year even if he had 5 five star players but I expect him to recruit better players than Poser can at Loyola-Chicago and win at least 20 games next year,

FSU coach Leonard Hamilton does himself less than proud in post game interview with female TV reporter by staring her down instead of answering the question about not fouling with 11 seconds left down 4. Game announcers all questioned the lack of fouling and just letting the clock run out. Then the 4 studio commentators Greg Gumbel, Clark Kellogg, Kenny Smith and Sir Charles Barkley all stick up for the coach and give him a pass without the slightest hint of criticism. Would think at least one of them would have at least questioned Hamilton's response because I know I found it quite disrespectful.

Was -- unfortunately -- at a friend's birthday dinner and didn't hear the score of the Loyola game (let alone see it) until after it was over. Couldn't believe my ears! This was a team that had won its three previous games by a total of four "last second" points and I wasn't expecting them to beat K State, let alone beat them by 16! Very frustrating, because I tried to share my enthusiasm with other dinner guests ... but no one seemed to care. But one thing I do know: Chicago Days is even more thrilled than I am. Geez, the Ramblers in the Final Four! How great is that! Couldn't be happier for you, CD!

Thanks red! Next year, please let it be the Johnnies!

Thanks bama. My wife said the same thing and also grumbled that the coach would’ve answered if a guy reported had asked the same question.

I know there are people here still bitter that Mahoney didn't foul Arkansas down six, so FSU fans definitely should get on his ass about not doing it down four.

Or he might have jumped even more ugly if it was a man. I can understand he is upset with losing but the guys in the studio should have at least called him out for his poor behavior and then said he deserves to be forgiven but not give him a total pass.

Maybe. Tough to lose a close one with seconds left. But a legitimate question that deserved an answer—even a ‘grumbled one’.

Not sure about that, his first 3 seasons at Loyola had losing records, before he broke through in 4th year. then have a losing record in year 5. that would be an intolerable record if he were the SJU coach for many.

You do realize that coach Poser coaches "Loyola" and not the highly visible DePaul in Chicago? You do realize he doesn't coach in the Big East with national exposure to recruits? That's like comparing Fordham to St. John's in NYC.
I'll leave it to Chicago Days to discuss Loyola but coach Poser has more coaching experience in his left nut than Mullin does in his big brain.

That is typical from Hamilton and it doesn’t matter who questioned him, just that you questioned him.

Not a great game or a great effort from Villanova, but they are still up 8 with 6 and a half minutes to go. TT hanging around.

Nova looking to survive off nights from both Bridges & Brunson. Up 8 with 1:16 left

This is as poorly played by Nova since they lost to us, and they still lead by 8 with a minute left in the game.

20 offensive rebounds and 23 points from the line can overcome a lot of otherwise so-so play.

If Duke wins and I am certainly not pulling for them, St. John's will be one of two teams to have beaten two Final Four teams. The other would be UNC who beat Duke and Michigan.

Happy for Villanova and the Big East for reaching the Final Four.

Texas Tech was very well coached and prepared but Villanova has been there before and got the job done.

Interesting take aways from Texas Tech:  Chris Beard abandoned his contract at UNLV to coach at TT to be with his family.  TT and Beard recruited promising Italian guard Davide Moretti who is Federico Mussini clone.  For those that remember Tommy Hamilton IV, he was the 6'11 DePaul center that transferred because he was tired losing.  He was a starter at DePaul but felt he could do better. He felt playing for a better coach would showcase his game better.  When he signed with TT he said "I’m appreciative of the year I got to play for Dave L… But everybody’s not Chris Beard.’’
Well while TT had a very good year and went deep in the tourney, Tommy was relegated to backup and averaged fewer minutes and points than at DePaul.  I could have told him the grass isn't always greener.  Especially in Lubbock were it's never green.  Are you paying attention Tariq???
