Xavier self-destructing. Hope they pull it out—although looking ominous—but X deserves this ‘trial’!

Karma for that last second dunk against St. John's.

Damn ‘easiest’ 3 to hit—for those that can manage the shot!—and a clunker.
X going down.
Wow.

X deserves it. That said, I pray I’m capabale of more than schadenfreude in future years!

Sorry for the BE, not sorry for Xavier.

Fourth foul on Matura was BS but with all the BS he pulls, it was poetic justice.

Officiating was bad both ways but Xavier blew a 10 point lead with 10 minutes to go. Couldn’t handle FSU’s pressure consistently, FSU solved Xavier’s 1-3-1 zone, plenty of bad decisions and poor free throws doomed the men of X. Good riddance.

Cincy papers are going to have a field’s day over which team’s (Xavier or Cincinnati) choke job was worst.

Karma -- and a total collapse -- aside, it would've been nice to have to have two BE teams in the Final Four.

Yeah, let’s root against Xavier because of one stupid dunk (Mack specifically told his players to stop scoring, he was visibly bothered by that slam). This is bad look for the Big East. The conference needed a good showing, having two 1 seeds. One Big East team and FOUR ACC teams to the sweet 16. Like it or not we need to root for the good of this relatively young conference when the tournament rolls around. Success there each season will legitimize the new BE. Old school powers Georgetown and St. John’s have yet to contribute anything meaningful on the new big stage.

If the shoe had been on the other foot, this Board when have been all over the offending player and the coach for it not being able to control his players.

I agree the Big East has made a poor showing this tournament and has a need to do better. As I mentioned in my previous post, I am sorry for the Big East not Xavier. If any BE team was going to blow it, it couldn’t have been a better team.

I've been watching way to many game the last few days leading to the following observations: 1) Most of the teams that played this weekend rebound considerably better than SJU did during the season. I'd be curious to see where SJU ranked in rebounding for the season. I suspect SJU would be near the bottom of the Big East. 2) During the first few out of conference games, it seemed like SJU passed the ball better than during the Big East season. The passing I am thinking about is not necessarily passing for assists but passing to move the ball from side to side or to probe the defense causing defensive reactions. Eventually good passing should tire the defense so that additional time allows shooters to prepare before the defense arrives. Are there any stats that track how many times the ball moves from one player to another?

Wow. Talk about a team snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. X blew it big time at the end. I told my wife, all those missed FTs will come back to haunt them. And they did. This from the sixth best FT shooting team in the nation. Was hoping to see two BEast teams in the Final Four. Now have to hope Nova wins it all.

I agree with your last sentence the most. However, I think Georgetown will get there much faster than DePaul.
My heart said go Big East but my mind said they played like shit from the 8 minute mark and I saw it coming.
The bottom line is Villanova is still in it and it is what conference is represented in the Final Four that will be remembered.
As for the ACC, I wouldn't be surprised to see them all exit by the Sweet 16. Hard for PAC 12 fans to watch.
Florida State was athletic and big which is where I hope to see us being in another year. The only consolation for me was it made my God son's Seminole grad fiance' happy. The nicest Jewish girl from the south one could ever meet!;)

That would be great, but unfortunately, Duke and Syracuse play each other on Friday night, so one of them will be moving on to the Elite 8. Talk about a game with no winners. I guess, the good news is that one of those teams will lose.

Is there any mathematical possibility that both teams can lose? Nothing short of that would please me.
