NCAA Breakdown & Matchups

As Kranmars posted if Willard had not hired Tiny who brought in Whitehead and then other recruits because of Whitehead's commitment he most likely would have lost his job.
It is going to be hard for the NCAA to stop a coach in that position from doing something illegal. So far it has worked out fine for Willard.

Very entertaining games tonight. So far, this has been a better than average tournament. Let's see what tomorrow brings.

Ayton and Bomba eliminated, and now Delgado. Likely number 1 and top 5 pick. Guards game especially this time of year. Forgot which coach, maybe Buffalo's, said you can neutralize the bigs in college basketball. Guess SJU staff still working on that one.

We did neutralize them in a couple of games but mostly we neutralize our recruiting of them.

Biggest choke job of the tournament.
The knucklehead misses both freebies and then, without a man on the ball, Houston allows a direct pass to a player with 3 seconds on the clock.

Agonizing finish! I want a ‘mid-tier’ floater to stop the shorter pass. But a painful loss for Houston! Can’t stand the Big ‘Ten’, except for Northwestern and they almost don’t count in that conference.

It must be one of the more difficult challenge in sports—if not in life—to hit foul shots in the last seconds of a tie or 1-2 point game, with fans of all stripes cheering and jeering.
The kid blew it.
You could sense the tension on Devin Davis, cameras on him, noise in his ears hitting his brain and nerve ends.
Feel sorry for the guy. Take a deep breath kid, and move on.
If it were one of our guys—we’d all be railing—me in the lead!
Sometime, we have to regroup and see it with a full lens.
Let’s go Johnnies.

Felt so bad for the kid. 45 minutes after the game he was caught standing in the middle of the court by himself.

I could not find myself rooting for Houston, even though they're not in the Power 5. The main reason? That cheat Kelvin Sampson. It's amazing to me that coaches can get caught cheating at every job they've been at, and still get more chances.

Whatever the case for the coach, or the defense played, that was a bomb that the Michigan kid hit for the game winner. Well beyond tge arc, with a defender in his face.

It's because winners who cheat are more attractive to fans than honest losers.

It's why Pitino's and Calipari's name get mentioned here every couple of weeks with lamentations

And I had a hard time pulling for Houston because I want to see as little credibility as possible given to UConn's conference.

The Butler-Purdue game is very entertaining. Both teams pass and move so efficiently.

Butler might try playing some defense, getting shredded but hanging in.

Butler gifted the game to Purdue on its last two possessions. Coaching!

Butler, another BE team going out soft, joining Providence and Creighton. They clamped down on D for about the last 4 minutes to get close but no cigar. Horrible decision by their coach to not foul under 30 seconds left especially when Harms, a 50% foul shooter, touched the ball.
