Good article. Thanks Paultz.
Eerie how Run TMC's run 'n gun style mirrors his SJU team's play. It's the same!
Also, interesting that Run TMC's teams had a losing record, 81 - 83, in there 2 seasons together, but Chris seemed to opine they could've won if they had stayed together..
Chris made some nice insights about the game as well--seeing things before they'd happen.
I think this 'event' helps his persona and recruiting as an 'extra' fillip--not the main meal!
Let's go Johnnies.

Good one Federico!:p
The program did hit a high note in Steve Lavin's first year.
In the 2010–11 season, St. John's won 21 games and went 12–6 in conference games. The previous season the same players went 6-12 in conference games. To top it off Lavin and St, John's signed the #3 recruiting class in the country. They also spent a couple of weeks nationally ranked. That was only 7 years ago but seems longer.
#MikeDunlap
#seniorsaregood, see 14/15 with same record, same tourney results (though no top marquee wins) despite the fact that by many accounts the program was apparently falling apart.

PS if there's one thing Mike Dunlap wasn't/isn't it's an effective recruiter.
The players couldn't stand coach Dunlap. They all loved Lav because he was so laid back but MD was a punisher.

The combination of Sunday matinees and hot yoga classes tend to have a very calming effect on a basketball coach, which in turn leads to a very laid back approach to coaching. Frankly, I think it should be a staple of every coach's weekly routine.

Looks like Hollywood is softening the our Monte.

Mitch finished by saying he won't be at game tonight, but will be in Houston for game 5. At least he's inching closer back to campus.

Poor Norm Roberts! His salary at St. John's was less than Slices's and when you add in Photo Op Mitch Richmond we could have given the entire Roberts coaches raises. I would love for him to inch his way back to Los Angeles where he belongs and then we can possibly hire a guy that can both coach and recruit.

Im not going to make a big deal about it, just think the guys who graduate deserve to have their coach attend. A lot of these kids are the first in their families to graduate from college i'd imagine its a pretty big deal for them.

Right, wrong or indifferent, I feel if it were different players other than Amar and Tariq, Mullin may have been more inclined to go. Personally, Tariq can kick rocks. Left us to scramble for a big because he supposedly wasn't getting enough touches.. I'm sure that soured things with coach.. Amar has never really been that close to Mullin. He was a Lavin recruit that they wanted to get rid of, however needed to keep him due to roster issues.. Time to move on...

Thanks Paultz! Forgot about him for a moment. I didn't see him in any of the pictures that I've seen from graduation day. Do you have any links to pictures with Bash in them? Just have seen the ones with Amar and Tariq
