Mullin

Agree with those saying that Mullin knew what he was getting into regarding the travel, recruiting, level of commitment, etc. Someone else rightly stated that if it were any coach not named Mullin that there would be many more critics. We don't have 10 years to throw away and pray he somehow gets it together and turns the program around despite mounting evidence to the contrary. We can't live off 1985 forever (again this was 4 years before I was born and I'm almost 30 so put that into perspective). I don't care if you're Ghandi...ultimately if you don't produce results, you need to be held accountable. That's the competitive business of college hoops. What if's, what you started with, if your aunt had balls...they don't matter. Produce, or step aside. If that sounds harsh or "negative" then you must believe in participation trophies.

To be fair, are we certain that he was not at the graduation? I believe the Warriors game was on a different day.

Also, if he did not attend, he may have offered congratulations in a different manner. Perhaps by taking them all out out dinner to celebrate?

Believe me, I don't like what I see with this staff. But Mullin seems to have a positive relationship with most of his players, so I am not going to jump to conclusions here.

He was not there, but assume he congratulated them as you noted.

Jeez, imagine if we all took the off season off from speculating and just letting things play out on their own instead of needlessly nit picking and over analysing. The results will speak for themselves. Yes there are some things that have come up that seem concerning, but we're also assuming alot so let's just see how the roster fills out and how the upcoming season goes. Should be a fun year. This off season has been casuing alot of needless anxiety.
Would have been nice to see him at his players graduation. Could have always flown out Monday for Game 4.
The two coaches that are actually closest to those players were there. Those seniors had zero relationship with Richmond and from Owens own dad, only a warm relationship with Mullin. Both are more figure heads than coaches in the traditional sense. Amar also had just a cool relationship with Mullin ever since he was told to look at other "opportunities" when Mullin thought he had a replacement coming in but, as usual, it didnt pan out. Both Owens and Amar were excellent students in the classroom so not having a jock coach at their graduation wasn't the letdown some think.

Wow you sound very knowledgeable on the subject. You must have been in on his contract negotiations where they stated residency requirements. You must be in the yearly meetings on goals of where we are and expectations for next year, next 3 next 5. Or maybe managements understanding is much different than yours. Please remember we are not duke or Kentucky or Kansas. We are not paying money and we are not making shady deals. I want us to win as much as anyone but I can see better talent and a lot of bad luck and some risky decisions to try to speed up the process (see brown and lovett). I see Kids who like and respect Chris and have seen Chris improve. I hope it continues and we finally dance this year.
Are we sure Calipari goes to his players graduations? Wait... They don't graduate
Right he goes to the NBA draft where he congratulates them on being first round draft picks and on becoming instant multi-millionaires.

I was only kidding.. Obviously that's why they go to Kentucky.. That, and the money and car their family gets before they even play a game for the Cats
Glad to see coach will be at the Golden State game tonight with Mitch Richmond to support Tim Hardaway. Run TMC was a great offensive force in the late 80's and 90's, and it is good to see them still support each other 20+ years later.
Yeah, go to a GS playoff game, instead of recruiting at all.
That's a real bang up job Chris, keep it going.

It’s a dead period now, where would you like the Coach to be recruiting ?

ok and where is he during a live period?
How about doing his job and get his ass to ny HS gyms and watch some top nyc kids.
He said that during his presser, guess you forgot.

Guess he's a good talker and says what everyone wants to hear, but doesn't back it up.

Correct RMN, there are enough things to question about the staff's abilities, efforts and qualifications without making new ones up.

You're a funny dude! Abilities, effort and qualifications. Doesn't that basically cover it all?;)
As for RMN, he is correct even with regard to the grad transfer as he has already gotten his blessings.
Like it or not, Chris is going to be commuting east to west very often but this is the last year he actually needs to and the move he makes next Spring will tell us a lot about his future intentions. Some in his family would love to see him move back to the east coast permanently. Let's see if the second time is a charm.;)
