Mullin Update

Our players seem to shoot the 3 with confidence. That's good, I don't know if I would shoot with confidence if I had two coaches who could destroy me in shooting drills lol

WTF is Walton wearing ? I'm convinced he did bong hits before the broadcast today

WTF is Walton wearing ? I'm convinced he did bong hits before the broadcast today

Walton shows evidence of considerable bong use for many years. It was painful to listen to. Constant babbling about things that had nothing to do with the game and couldn't remember Jon Sciambi or Fran Fraschilla's first names. Almost made me wish for Harold Reynolds or Cal Ripken to serve as the analyst. (Met fans will know how horrible they were.)

I for one am very happy listening to Bill Walton on whatever subject he speaks. He is all over the place and knows far more than another talking head speaking X and 0's till you ears fall off and you are still nowhere.

Whatever he knows doesn't translate to what comes out of his mouth.

I thought the name thing was a running joke.

How much better is Chris than Crean.
Today was fun.
Can't wait for nest year.

In so many ways St. John's won today if you know what I mean

and the positive publicity about Chris Mullin, his staff, the team, the program,
Wow
priceless!

I could not agree more! The respect that Chris has earned over the years resonates with so many people across this country, and at times it appears that we receive the media exposure equivalent to being a top 10 team! His hiring by SJU is going to pay many dividends in the next decade outside the world of college basketball for the University.

@corey_evans

This is exactly why this season is bearable
We will soon be reaping the benefits of our staff's outstanding efforts
The foundation is being laid for a great future for St John's basketball
I am so excited to be along for the ride!!

I look at year one of the Mullin era the same way I looked at year two of the Lavin era; I am willing to tolerate most any result because the future seems so promising. The timetable for success may not be exactly how most of want it to be, but I still remain extremely confident that within 3-4 years we will return to being an upper tier Big East program which consistently makes the big dance. Go Johnnies!!!

Agree, with the caveat that Lavin in year 2 had much more talent than this squad. As much as PGIV was not a PG, even as a frosh he would be the best PG on the current roster. No one on this team is in the same stratosphere as Harkless his freshmen year. And frankly no one is as good as D-Lo as a freshmen either. But I too preached patience in year 2 of the Lavin era, thinking that we had begun an era of roster stability and success. If you told me we'd have a barren roster after year 5, I would have called you a Lavin-hater with an agenda. How wrong I was.

Agree that team had more talent. Was only comparing state of program and my state of mind.
