Mullin Update

How cool would it be in a couple of years someone breaks mullin's all time scoring record with him as coach
Doubtful cause if they are that good will leave early and if they are four year type player doubtful they start from day one. Harrison was the perfect storm and he didn't come that close.

Even if Harrison had broken it, it was with the aid of the three point shot.

Question - I remember Mullin playing in the last two years but I was still fairly young and didn't see most of his games.

Officially he played in 125 games w/ the 2,440 pts

would it be fair to assume that if 3's existed then, assuming he took the same shot selection, he would have easily averaged 2-3 three pointers per game and totals might have been 3,000-3,500 total points ?

Even if you gave him what is your max of 3 per game that is an additional 3 pts per game (as that would be 9 pts instead of just 6) x 125 games is an additional 375 pts still leaving him short of 3,000 let alone 3,500.

Thanks.. idiot me.. it's late and i sat through another loss....and I forgot to deduct the 2 pts already in the bank.

Since Dr. G has made it clear basketball is a priority with bringing in Chris and Co., is there any chance we will be updating our arena and/or facilities to seal the deal? Any plans for a new arena down the line? Or more modernizations at least? How about training/gym facilities?

School has been rather quiet about this, unless I'm uninformed, but if we truly want to move forward and to help Chris and staff out I think we need to further invest in the infrastructure. Thoughts?

Think they wait until we start winning on consistent basis. If you win they will come.

Waiting until they can raise ticket packages to finance any construction. But they are limited in the space available without extending on to Union Turnpike.

You could also say why invest in an arena when we will still play numerous games at MSG, which we have to play for recruiting purposes.

Bucknasty23 has the right idea. Play 7 or 8 at MSG, play 4 or 5 at the 13,000 seat Nassau Coliseum and the remaining games at CA.

Right idea, EXCEPT one minor problem, the coliseum has been demolished.

Simple answer is absolutely not.
They just did a few years ago , it will not happen for a very long time if at all. Perhaps after 60 straight on campus sellouts , which would mean we are damn good for 5 years in a row discussion will commence. Not before. And since Coach's name is on the building there cannot be a title sponsor as there is will other buildings on campus.
Win and get players to the pros and more future pros will come. Very simple formula. The better the players the more we win. The more we win the more games to MSG. I look forward to the day when the team only plays 5 games a season on campus.

The way college athletics are headed I think its only a matter of time until its a necessity. Might as well start thinking about it now. Nothing crazy but I think you need a 7-9 thousand seat bowl arena that is good for both the season ticket holders and the students.

The Nassau Coliseum is being demolished but a new building with a 13,000 seat capacity is replacing it. Kentucky is scheduled to open the arena. Construction always seems to run into delays but even if it a season away it should be considered as a venue considering construction costs.
Play the A games at MSG , the B games at Nassau and the C games at CA. :nervous:

Carnesecca Arena opened in December 1961 so yea they need to finish it off now and now they have the right pieces to win they can build a good arena i dunno about the carrier dome but close to it .
