Mo and Draft

First, I apologize for posting this in the wrong spot, so, yes, I would appreciate it if a Mod moved it.joyave any inside info, so conclusory statements don't always appear as fact. It is hard to understand certain things without all the facts at hand.

And, I agree that we should all wish him well, I am sure he weill be successful as a pro, even if the road is a little more difficult becasue of where he is drafted.  And, maybe as MJ indicated, he can actually move up basedvides
.

At this point I hope he goes high enough in.the.draft gets some big bucks and enjoy his career and provides. for his family Good luck and thanks you for coming to SJU

Chad Ford from ESPN says that Moe really helped himself this past weekend at the NBA pre-draft camp. Says he did well both on the court and in interviews. Then mentions that he has heard that he might even go as high as the 7th to 9th draft pick.

Wow, good for him. Moe had a very good year for a freshman, but I didn't see this type of jump in the draft coming. I thought he needed more time to develop and become more consistent. If this draft position pans out, then it sounds like he really got focused and he certainly made the right decision.

Wow that would be fantastic

Chad Ford's Mock 7.0 out today on ESPN (Insider) has him going 16 to the Rockets.

I hope Sixers get him so I can go see him play plus the Sixers need him. I could care less what pick he is i care more what system he goes to so he can succeed better so he is more known

I could care less what pick he is

First, I think you couldn't care less, and secondly of course you couldn't since you won't be cashing his checks.

Don't think anyone posted this yet. I don't think his upside is Trevor Ariza. I think his ceiling is higher than that.

!

Here's a link to the NBA rookie pay scale: http://basketball.realgm.com/nba/info/rookie_scale

The difference between #7 (the highest I've seen him projected) and #17 (Philly) is over a million dollars a season. If he should drop all the way to the Warriors at #30, its well over a million and a half difference.

NBA has released the results of the athletic tests from the combine (height/weight was released last week). Here's the link: http://www.draftexpress.com/nba-pre...raft=0&pos=0&source=NBA Draft Combine&sort=12

Looks like Moe shrunk and inch, but his wingspan is nuts. The bench press for Moe (and really of them) is pathetic. I guess noone is going to mistake any of them for powerlifters. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt for their long arms.

Moe compared pretty well to the rest of the top SF guys. He had the best agility. In the middle for vertical. I could see him jumping a few guys.

Wouldn't worry about the Bench press. Kevin Durant scored...zero. Moe's 5 matches guys like JR Smith, Luol Deng, Steve Novak, Jarret Jack, Demarr Deroazan, John Henson, Klay Thompson and Jermey Lamb.

No big lifter but got the job done playin down low. Good thing DuJuan Blair had moved on, although we only played Pitt the one time. I feel Mo made a better showing at the 4 then he would have at the 3, unless he knew to put perimeter game away and made it his business to get to the rim. Anyone think he's one and done playin 27 min. at the 3?

Glowing article all about Moe from CBSsports.com. Great piece, IMO, because you learn a lot about him.

Hollinger came out with his PER style rankings of prospects. Moe didn't fare very well being ranked 35 overall and garnering a mention in the column as follows:

On the wings, a few potential first-rounders also fare poorly. Moe Harkless of St. John's had one of the worst ratings of any first-round prospect. While the error rate on one-and-done players has been higher, the difference between Harkless and the other lottery candidates is well outside the standard error of the Rater.
