Mo and Draft

i think its clear alot of people feel Moe made the wrong decision me included with all the players that have declared early I think hes gonna slip into round 2. I think he would have been much better off having another good year at SJU next year and become a lottery pick however it was his decision and he made it. You cannot get upset about it hes a good kid he gave us a good year and hopefully will make other big time NYC kids wanna stay home and play for us. I will root hard for him to get picked in the first round and have a good NBA career it will only help us with future recruits.

Fair enough, I love Lav but to me the difference between Norm and Lav is the same as the one between Lav and Calipari. He is the best at what he does and at this point I see it almost impossible for him to commit violations. He is not flying under the radar anymore at umass or even at Memphis. He is recruiting at the highest level of all time simply because kids know their chances of going to the pros remain in tact and often increase. Like I said before blame the 1 year rule because there is a very slim chance Calipari is committing violations while winning titles and recruiting #1 classes each year the NCAA has him within arms reach for sure

Using that logic, I guess Bernie Madoff couldn't have been stealing because why would he steal, he was making so much money. Look, I don't know if Calapari is cheating at kentucky but his track record speaks for itself and if asked I know which way I would vote.

Who are the lot of people your referring to?

I agree with Logen on this one. Using that line of thinking UCONN wouldn't have violations either, or USC and Ohio State football; but we all know that they do. And the NCAA picks and chooses what to enforce. It's very difficult to prove a boaster paid a guys family; and the so the NCAA chooses not to look into the so called major violations.

Zags also reporting that Moe has been working out at an Academy in Florida. So between not going to class and signing an agent, we can finally stop the messages about Moe potentially coming back. Its over. He's gone pro and good luck.

Hope our APR is not hurt.

That is the hazard of recruiting one-and-done and two-and-done players in the modern era. You can absorb it if you have enough four-year players to offset, but if your whole program is built that way you are gonna have a problem.

Of course, Calipari will get out of Lexington one step ahead of APR ineligibility and the NCAA violations squad, as he always does. Somehow it's never Cal or the kids he pays or their parents and friends he paid who get hit, it's always the program that gets left holding the bag.

One of these days the NCAA has to figure out how to penalize the coaches, not the programs and the kids who are collateral damage.

The "program" is reaping the glories and will be held responsible.
They know what they are getting and winning cures all. That is most of the time,
except when you crash a motorcycle with a babe on the back.

The programs have to accept the majority of the penalties they are the institutions who are standing behind these coaches and condoning everything that goes on by paying millions of dollars each year to have these coaches run their teams. And anybody who says they wouldn't want Calipari as their coach is lying, at this point I see nothing wrong with how he's running UK, it's not his fault the 1 year rule is awful and he continually sends 3 or 4 players to the NBA each year

Johnnie's could have had him years ago, if Looie didn't kill the deal.

And he would have been long gone by now leaving a disaster in his wake.

Your logic makes perfect sense. I'm entrusting a guy who has repeatedly violated rules but I just get the feeling that times have changed, the NCAA is stricter than ever and UK's NCAA rules compliance office is probably doing every thing they can to keep themselves clean. Even with Calipari's track record I'd still consider him cleaner than that lowlife Calhoun

I wouldn't want Calapari as my coach at all, but then again I'm old and did not grow up in the "win or whine" era.

Back when I was young we called it the "win or wine" era. Not that we needed an excuse to stop for a drink no matter the result of the game. I mean it was a long walk to and from the arena . . . barefoot . . . up hill both ways. ;)

Well, unfortunately I guess, I never had to go barefoot and I don't remember Queens being especially hilly but other than that attmpt at your humor is right on.

Doug Gottlieb from ESPN ranks Moe as the #17 best NBA draft prospect, one head of Austin Rivers... He says that if he were drafting he might not take Michael Kidd-Gilchrist ahead of Moe because Moe has scoring skills and perimeter ability that MKG lacks. He says Moe has size, skill and can definitely score...

I am giving up fried twinkies for a month if Rivers gets picks ahead of Mo. I hope the Warriors get the #1 choice tonight for Mr Jackson.

Calipari was advised by Pitino that the UMASS job was better than the St John's job. While it's true than Carnesecca justifiably dislikes Calipari, Calipari never was coming here.

I think he's referring to when Jarvis got fired.

Someone had told me that Cal or his agent had actually sent a resume or expressed a lot of interest or something like that as soon as Jarvis got fired but I don't know that firsthand

You should give them up permanently if you want to last long enough to see Moe's NBA career come to a close. :cheer:

Deep fried Oreos are the way to go

look at mo's nba workout drill on rumble in the jungle...he is doing the same routine we saw rico hines doing with stephan curry in his film...incredible recruiting tool!!

I see a lot of the guys they have as pegged above Moe an I'm sorry, but I see Moe going higher. Moe has huge upside and I think we might see him get drafted a bit higher than many expected originally.

This seems to be shaping up as "the younger the better" kind of draft. So, let's hope Mo goes as high as possible.

And, dude, what are you, doing on here at 3 am?  ;)
