Minnesota

Sounds like a hell of a guy.

At least the kid didn't have sex with her on a restaurant table.

Beast you seem like a good guy, I'm going to assume you misspoke. Having an affair isn't comparable to assault.

This is what the article says:
"The criminal report details two counts of domestic assault against McNeil, including felony second-degree assault, against his girlfriend at an apartment near campus. The report reads that McNeil “ripped her clothes off, hit her with a large belt multiple times, choked her and poured cold water on her. The victim [was] able to flee [the] unit with only a small robe and coat. ... Officers observed victim to have multiple bruising and welts all over her body.”

Who said Pitino had an affair? If there were a police report of his banging his dinner date it may have read: he ripped off her clothes, took off his large belt, proceeded to assault the intoxicated woman, leaving her with bruises on her bum. That Pitino survived this incident shows you the desperate state of college basketball at Louisville. A school without a conscious.
Its a good thing Louisville has a football coach they don't have to worry about.

Pretty sure Pitino said it was an affair. And the woman said it. And the guy who was tasked with covering it up. The only crime was her extortion attempt.

It was a fictitious parody of a coach with low moral fiber. He is the Teflon coach who can get away with saying things like: ‘We played four white guys and an Egyptian’ when asked about running up the score against the Horace Broadnax coached Savanah State. It should be noted that Savanah State is a black college made up of all black players. Sure there was a gulf of talent but it was also a backhanded way of degrading the talent of your "white" players. BTW, those 4 white guys and the Egyptian played less than 7 minutes each.

I guess Horace hasn't learned much from John Thompson. Only token white guys.

This game is a must win despite the article and impression that it is still early. I have seen their games against so called lesser opponents and have not been impressed. They need to step it up and fast

Unfortunately, historically, this is exactly the type of winnable game that we lose, and start digging ourselves a hole to climb out of. Hope I'm wrong.

@NYPost_Brazille: St. john's is a three-point favorite tomorrow over Minnesota. Surprising. #sjubb

They are probably still factoring in MSG as a "home court", even though that's not exactly true for this game, since it's not part of the season ticket.

One thing I've learned. The odds makers will be wrong every now and then (there are just too many games for them to be right all the time), but they generally know what they are doing.

wouldnt it be nice to just blow them out? Lets come out firing tomorrow boys!

This is the type of game where hitting the foul shots will determine the winner, reminiscent of the Texas A&M game when Nuri threw up bricks at the end.

Well the wise guys must not love us bc on my ticket we are EVEN on the moneyline and 1 point dogs. Quite the shift going the Gophers way. I wont complain, better payout for me!!!

Thanks greg.

“I probably watched film 100 times on each of those games [Syracuse, Villanova, Xavier, Providence, Creighton] ,” Harrison said. “I know what we did wrong as a group and I’m going to make sure it won’t happen again.”

I'm glad somebody is.

St. John's falls behind early, deficit reaches double digits. Valiant second half comeback falls short as team runs out of gas and loses.

Wash, rinse, repeat.

Hope not, but we shall see.

Five things as I inhale a plate of pad Thai in the East Village ...

1. Not the pregame story we were planning. Minnesota guard Daquein McNeil was arrested on two counts of domestic assault, including felony assault on Monday afternoon and remains in jail, pending charges.

2. Minnesota has swiped at least 13 steals in each of the last three games, and now is ranked seventh in the nation in steal percentage and 11th in defensive turnover percentge, per kenpom.com after four games. One surprise is that early on, the Gophers' defense -- which ranked last in the Big Ten in efficiency a year ago -- has been better than the offense early on. Minnesota's offense is ranked 50th nationally, while its defense lands at No. 34. "Numbers shouldn't matter this early in the season, so I don't look at numbers and rankings and those things right now," coach Richard Pitino said. "If we're [that highly ranked in steals] in February I'll be excited."

3. The odds of winning Wednesday's matchup vs. St. John's -- a team ranked 11 spots lower than Minnesota per kenpom.com? Not good, according to the tempo-free statistics site, which gives the Gophers just a 38 percent chance of winning.

4. Odd stats: through four games, no Minnesota player is averaging more than 4.8 rebounds. And the Gophers' leader in boards per game? That would be freshman guard Nate Mason.

5. What is the team doing for Thanksgiving tomorrow? Well, they'll be practicing at Baruch College in the flatiron district at some point during the day and then having a Thanksgiving meal at the hotel, which Pitino said was the players' choice. Happy Holidays? "Depends," the coach said with a smirk. "If we win [on Wednesday], it will be a good Thanksgiving. If we lose, it will be a bad Thanksgiving."

Thanks greg.

Funny, if Lavin said that, he'd be crucified. IF he's going to make sure it doesn't happen again, he has to come up big in crunch time.
