Minnesota

@SJUCoachLavin: This is an important two-game stretch that will have a similar feel to the NCAA Tournament... #SJUBB

This week's possible outcomes........

2 wins = A home run....big time investment in our bid for the tournament.

Beat Minn and Lose to Gonzaga = About as good as I could hope for.

Lose to Minn & beat Georgia = Fine, not a disaster. I already have low expectations

Lose to Minn AND Lose to Georgia = I will stop at nothing to avoid hearing or seeing the ridiculous Lavin quotes/excuses

How would you know

The main similarity between St John's and L'ville is the horrendous 3pt shooting.
St Johns currently ranked: 321 @ 25% and L'Ville 339 @ 22%

In his day a good case can be made that Pitino was the biggest innovator of the 3pt shot in college hoops.

when he first coached at Kentucky he had walkons sitting in the corner at the 3 point line waiting to get
the ball and release. On a break away layup the guard would pass to the open shooter who would bury it.
A real thing of beauty.

yes and usually they were drilling them from a couple feet or more behind the 3pt line unlike most teams who always had their guys within inches of the line and often getting credit for 2 instead of 3 for their troubles.

Sounds like a hell of a guy.

At least the kid didn't have sex with her on a restaurant table.

Beast you seem like a good guy, I'm going to assume you misspoke. Having an affair isn't comparable to assault.

This is what the article says:
"The criminal report details two counts of domestic assault against McNeil, including felony second-degree assault, against his girlfriend at an apartment near campus. The report reads that McNeil “ripped her clothes off, hit her with a large belt multiple times, choked her and poured cold water on her. The victim [was] able to flee [the] unit with only a small robe and coat. ... Officers observed victim to have multiple bruising and welts all over her body.”

Comment had nothing to do with the charges against him, was just a Pitino slap. If the charges have any validity, basketball has no place in his future unless its in an orange jumpsuit in the prison yard.

Who said Pitino had an affair? If there were a police report of his banging his dinner date it may have read: he ripped off her clothes, took off his large belt, proceeded to assault the intoxicated woman, leaving her with bruises on her bum. That Pitino survived this incident shows you the desperate state of college basketball at Louisville. A school without a conscious.

Pretty sure Pitino said it was an affair. And the woman said it. And the guy who was tasked with covering it up. The only crime was her extortion attempt.

It was a fictitious parody of a coach with low moral fiber. He is the Teflon coach who can get away with saying things like: ‘We played four white guys and an Egyptian’ when asked about running up the score against the Horace Broadnax coached Savanah State. It should be noted that Savanah State is a black college made up of all black players. Sure there was a gulf of talent but it was also a backhanded way of degrading the talent of your "white" players. BTW, those 4 white guys and the Egyptian played less than 7 minutes each.

The tone of the game needs to be set early. If we go out and play our usual first 10 minutes of disorganized ball it will be curtains. Then again, when was the last time you heard Steve Lavin take the blame for poor starts like this: "I don't think I did a great job of trying to get my guys into the first four minutes of the game," said Savannah State coach Horace Broadnax"
