He's one of 5 head coaches with 15 years experience that have never had a losing season. WTF. Why the shade?

We haven’t won an NCAA Tournament game in 20 years.

20 years.

20 years.

Do I have to say it again? You people are beyond delusional. You hang your hats on a program that was successful more than 20 years ago like that means shit to any coach or player now.

All they see is a mediocre program with subpar results. Which is why bringing in a Chris Mullin made a ton sense. He was the prodigal son, with a NBA Hall or fame pedigree to show the young uns.

Do I have to quote Rick Pitino here? Joe Lapchick isn’t walking through that door. Not even Robert Werdann is walking through that door.

I’m sick of this nonsense. We are a mediocre program who should be glad, especially after the last 10 days, a guy of this caliber said yes to us.

Please. If you doubt, take a god damn hike. Root for Duke or Kentucky. I’m so sick of this alternate universe I refuse to live in. We’ve sucked for awhile now. Our highs are few and far between and our lows are plenty. We need to make a new reality. A reality that has actually occurred in this century.

For the most part, I have not posted or read the board since it became apparent that CMA(as they call him on the Arkansas fan boards, which I read) would be our new coach. I just didn't have the same feelings of euphoria about this hiring that most of you guys have, and didn't want to piss on everyone's parade. Let me say this, CMA is very much loved and respected by the Arkansas fans and media. Lots of wonderful comments about him on their board, and even more of them yesterday when word got out that he was going to be our coach. Many fans went so far as to say that we'd be their 2nd favorite team, and wished CMA and our program much future success. A very classy group, those Razorback fans. At the same time I saw very few people-fans or sportswriters-who did not feel that it was time for him to go, or were sorry to see him go. They felt that, amongst other things, 3 tourney appearances in 8 years wasn't even close to acceptable. They were other issues they had with him as a coach(not as a person), but there's no purpose in posting those now.

I was skeptical about the Mahoney, Lavin and Mullin hires. I was downright baffled by the Norm hire. I was thrilled with the Fran hire and was cautiously optimistic with the Jarvis hire. I put the my feelings about the Anderson hire in the same category as the Mahoney, Lavin and Mullin hires. Like those 3, I will support the coach and team, and hope for the best. However, I will not be renewing my 2 season tickets. The older I get, the more careful I am about parting with my money. It usually winds up costing me somewhere between $250-$300 per game, between tickets, food, drinks, etc. I'm no longer willing to shell out that kind of money to watch an inferior product on the court, and I'm nowhere near convinced that that's going to change under CMA.

I'll sit out next season and wait to see what kind of job CMA does. IMO a lot will depend on his staff, especially his recruiters(get Borman here!!!). If the team is playing well I may choose to attend a few games. If it looks as though he has the program headed back in the right direction next season, then I'll renew my tickets for the following season. If not, I'll wait. There's always time. I really hope to be wrong on CMA, just like I hoped to be wrong on BH, NR, SL and CM. I mean, I can't bat 1.000 forever. Happy Passover and Happy Easter all.
I am cancelling my 3 tickets. I've had it. Everyone should do the same. Let them play in an empty Garden. It is 20 years of baloney if the University cares about the program they would have grabbed Pitino when he called saying he was interested or signed Cleuss. Instead we have another Norm Robert's. Have fun watching the team go 0 - 18
Honestly, these comments border on racism, and it's not cool at all. I'll just pretend it's pure ignorance.

Coach Anderson has the best college basketball head coaching resume as an applicant since 1992, I got an idea, let’s dump our tickets and $#*+ on our new Coach.

Agree 112. There’s only one reason someone could compare MA to Norm.

Read 1 of 4 the others being Few, Izzo and Roy Williams or as Tim McCarver would pronounce it Weeumms.

Honestly, I wrote a long ass soliloquy about what you posted but I deleted it because I don’t want to start anything but when there’s smoke, there’s usually fire. There is no comparison between the 2. None.

Dee, you've made your point: you're cutting ties with the program. You made it clear; so, just go and spare us the rants. I'm sure the players will be devastated knowing you're gone and rooting -- or not rooting -- for another team.

A big WELCOME to out new HC. Thank goodness that saga is behind us. Hoping our AD stays too. Let's get this ship turned around and leave mediocrity behind. Kind of glad we went in a different direction. Happy Easter to all.

This new coach deserves the courtesy of getting a chance to demonstrate before being written off and not wanting to support.

Let’s see what the roster looks like and what the coaching staff looks like before jumping ship. The fact that he got fired will make him more motivated to prove himself. I’m optimistic. Think we will end up w a well rounded hard working staff.

Nothing gets past you Mike. You’re on to me lol

We all love the Big East but lets face it, Kentucky Auburn Tenn LSU Miss fla blows away our upper tier big east schools. Sure on any given year we have a Butler or Xavier suprise nationally with nova. The guy deserves a shot here. By every account hes a stand up guy and i'm willing to see how it plays out.
