Mike Anderson - Recruiting, Coaching, Etc.

I would like to report that in the past fiscal year I found 2 dollars floating by me in the sewer. (Hope Kranmars reads this).

this part doesn’t sound too good

In June, Richardson was contacted again by NCAA enforcement about scheduling an interview for a “notice of allegations.”  He said there’s an order to “show cause,” but Richardson already served his prison time and believes any further conversations or punishments are akin to “beating a dead horse.”

I know I will only end up disappointed, but I've been all in on Book since Happy posted his pic.

I feel like Shoes might be past his expiration date, so if not Book I'd like to see someone else.

I know that article is from last October and much could have changed, but there are other things in it that don't sound good either. You have to feel bad for the guy, but as pointed out in the article, he's clearly in need of mental health treatment, which at the time the article was written, he had not been seeking because he could not afford it. He must be very fragile mentally if he broke down crying and had to run out of the room during the interview for the article. Seems like a decent man, but not sure he's in the right state of mind/health to be able to be what we need.

if we get Book I’d be so ecstatic I’ll go to a library for the first time in 10 years

If he sounds fragile mentally, it's probably because his career and marriage fell apart. And had the feds on his back.

Pretty sure if he had a college career again, and was around a guy who's been happily married for decades, it would do wonders for his outlook on life.

Don't mean to sound harsh, but there are candidates out there other than an ex-felon who cheated on his wife.

SJU doesn't have to be the first spot on Book's redemption tour.

I thought  had posted this but I don't see it.

Let him rehabilitate elsewhere with our history with the NCAA, why give the NCAA a reason to look in our direction.

Beginning to sound like the Mike Rice to St. John's story part deux.

His marriage fell apart because he cheated on his wife, and his career felt apart because he cheated at his job. If you read the quotes in the article, it also sounds like he's having trouble finding his own identity. Listen, I'm all for giving second chances, and we can agree to disagree on the topic, but that article strikes me as someone who probably could use some time away to work on his mental health. I don't believe it's in the best interests of our basketball program to basically rehabilitate him here while he's also expected to do a high level job.

I believe it's OK to not be afraid to take chances. It seems like we sit back way too often because we don't want to be the first program to give someone a shot at redemption. I think if we wanted Shoes, we should have tried to get him 10 years ago. I think there are better, more exciting options out there.

Whatever happened to that young NY-based AAU coach who had ties to Duke who everyone was huge on joining Mullin's staff before everything went kaput?

I’m not a moral high ground guy, but this is moot with Book. SJU won’t move on this IMO.

Book ain't happening.  You guys are going to waste page upon page debating something that has ZERO chance of happening
