Mike Anderson - Recruiting, Coaching, Etc.

I'll be honest, I had real concerns we'd see a mass exodus at the end of the season, from the way it appeared during that tough stretch earlier in the season. Even started noticing bad body language. Happy to say that fear has gone away, winning cures all, even if we don't dominate the rest of the year. That locker room video of after the win last night really showed a group who seem to enjoy each other and their coach.

Realize the guy is running for Mayor and trying to get votes, but nice to see anyway.

I’ve liked St. John’s since the Ron Artest Lavor Postell Erick Barkley Zendon Hamilton teams in the late 90s - good to see them winning again.

At one point or another earlier this season, pretty much every single kid on this team except Champ was maligned. Some(IE Cole is too slow to play at this level, etc) more than others. Criticism is one thing, but writing kids off so early in the season is a whole other. So happy to see these kids grow as individuals and as a unit. Excited to see them continue to grow.
Maybe we should have faith in a coach that has never had a loosing record in 19 seasons. A coach that has had to recruit against some of the biggest sharks in the business in the SEC. Maybe we should give him and his experienced staff a little more credit than we do as opposed to having knee jerk reactions when things are not going our way.
paultzman put up a chart earlier showing the players stats this season to date. We have 9 players that contribute on this team. 2 are playing at all BE level, something no one and I repeat no one on this board predicted. 4 more in Cole, Dunn, Williams, Moore are averaging in double figures or are borderline approaching double figures. Wusu is playing at a level far above anything anyone could have predicted and may make the BE all rookie team. And this is a guy who bordered on being a 2 star recruit. Roberts has certainly improved as of late and the Duke has been a little bit of a disappointment. So 7 players are playing above their rankings while the Duke and Roberts are contributing but still finding their way.
clearly the man knows what he is doing. And by the way zero drama, I repeat zero drama something we are so unfamiliar with following our last two coaches.
just remember we are never as good as our last win or as poor as our last defeat.
Listen to the words of our dear sage Panther.
And a guy (toro) who got zero minutes last night was in the forefront of the locker room celebration

good points Monte
hey THESE PLAYERS ARE MERE KIDS
can we  give them a break and be encouraging rather than so critical ( some posters have been )

maybe after the Villa W the critics will shove it -

OUR PLAYERS ARE JUST KIDS DOING THE THE BEST THEY CAN!

all the best

Love Mike Anderson! Let's retire this guy in 15 or so years and with a ton of wins behind him!

I love CMA's style of play with commitment to defense and fast pace game, BUT more importantly, the players love it as Julian said in the post game interview after the Nova game--he loves it and I believe that it will start to help recruiting

certainly the defense is coach's trademark. i will say though, i've been really impressed with the half-court offense. we still take some quick shots, but for the most part, the team moves the ball pretty well.  everyone seems to have gotten comfortable in their roles.

We are second in the conference in scoring offense.  Take a snapshot for those seasons when we aren't quite looking dynamic on offense because the system is fine.  Need the right athletes and bball players.  Offense looks good with requisite talent.

He's on the list with about 5 other posters that only show up during the rough stretches
