Midnight Madness Countdown

Recruiting may become harder for the staff for 2018 and 2019 as contrary to the past they have little guaranteed playing time to offer. However , they are involved with large number of recruits for each class and only need a few to commit for 2018. If we win 15 games or more this season the staff will also be able to sell a greatly improved win/ loss record and player development. In any event I sincerely applaud their effort.

Even though we have a slim chance of landing many of these players. Getting them all to show up together is a great accomplishment and will lead to continuing to bring in solid players.

Little playing time to offer? They have little in the way of scholarships to offer until class of 19. There are presently -1 schollies available for class of 17 and 1 for class of 18. Assuming they fix next year's situation there's still only 2 available at this time for class of 18. Class of 19 there's plenty of rides and PT available especially in the front court with Zach Brown is the only big signed past May 2018 and 7 open spots on the 18/19 roster. But like you said still have a loaded back court since Lovett, Ponds, Simon would all still be eligible and Diakite and RF at the SF.

Red Strorm Tip-Off on Friday, Oct. 14, at 7 p.m... "...select lucky fans will have the chance to win an iPad, Qdoba catering for 20 or sink a half-court shot for a 2017 Chevy Camaro"

What would my uncontested bank shot from 6 feet get me? Maybe one of those little tree air fresheners for said Camaro?

Sweet prize, good luck to the contestants!

I like the new style Camaros. If I'm not mistaken, Chip Foose had a hand in the new design styling. I drove a '69 Camaro as a student at SJU. Would love to see someone win that.

The new Camaro's are sweet. Very reminiscent in looks of the '67-69's. Ironically enough when I was at SJU I had a 1970 with a 307 V8. It was a beater... I put so much money into that thing just to keep it running. Those were the days of the SS Monte's flying up and down Franny Lew...

I worked on mine pretty much every day until I crashed it... I remember those Monte SS and the Grand Nationals, well. I had a Monte but not an SS. Senior year I was working 3 jobs and had a girlfriend so went for the larger, smoother ride Delta 88.

Interested to hear everybody's answer on the following question.... If you could pick only one of the kids who are coming to the tipoff to commit who would it be? Not who you think is the most likely to come here but the one kid who you want here the most? :)

Assuming no transfers in 2018 we should have Ponds, Simon and Lovett in the backcourt who will all be juniors and Mussini and Ellison will be seniors. Sima and Owens will be seniors and Brown a sophomore. Yakwe and Clark will be seniors, Richard F will be a junior and Diakite a freshman. Seems our greatest need will be at forward and I am hoping for Naz Reid. In 2019 we need guards, forwards and a Center, but we will have ships to give and I look forward to a monster class let by Achiuwa.

Achiuwa is a good one.

Moses Brown.

It looks like there is a healthy line of students waiting to grab tickets for tonight's tipoff. It's good to see strong student support after last season. Wish I could make it tonight, should be a fun event for everyone there.

That strong student support is to see the rapper. You will never see 95% of those students at any of our games this season.

I second this. Take it with a grain of salt, but he was a lot more dominant his freshman year than Russ Smith was while at Molloy.
