It’s effort too. The team laid down last night and Posh never backed down once in his career. There were plenty of games when he looked like the only one not stuck in slow motion.

Pitino himself said the guys who left were good players when asked about Deion and Colorado comparisons. “The difference is the guys that left St. John’s could really play.”

He’s going to play amazing with better coaching and no Curbelo.
Idk if you tuned out last year cause it did get rough 😁, but laying down was one of our best traits. Posh wasn’t innocent of it.

Ledlum isn’t even on the same planet as Storr as a basketball player.

You can make an argument for Luis and Soriano…Dingle if he’s actually used correctly. Storr is very good, plus he’s only a soph. But Jenkins wouldn’t get him the ball anyway so it doesn’t matter. We have Alleyne who is similar and the kid can’t buy an open look.
You are clueless. Keep the “sky is falling act” up. Yawn.

Yes and to be fair I think Posh was completely in shock and felt betrayed by a man he trusted (and rightly so) when CMA took the pg keys he had so ably used and handed them to Curbelo who was more interested in his own showtime tour than the good of the team. It appeared to me that the shock of that completely disabled him as a player last year. He was lost in his role, his trust with CMA was gone, and there was no way he could figure out what he was supposed to do for the team when no one else was actually prioritizing the team (except perhaps VM, Joel and Drissa). You can't cut a man's legs out from under him, crippling him at what he loves and does best, and then say he laid down. Posh is a good young man who was done wrong and lost himself in the process. I expect the man we knew and cheered on for two years will return to his beloved basketball this year a bit wiser, with things to prove, and St John's will feel every bit of his intensity when he meets us on the court!

That said, Posh is gone, and we've got a new team in creation. Til we play Seton Hall, what if we let it rest and focus on this team, this season?

Relax fellow Redmen fans. We got beat by a very big & good team in Michigan. With two of their guys having the game of their lives.

Now if we look like this against Xavier in about a month I might start to worry. This “team” has still yet to become a TEAM. The addition of Luis will help as well. He was the best player in scrimmages until he got hurt.

So let’s give this team at least a month(lol) to gel before jumping ship.
I'll start to worry if we look like last night vs. N Texas

Looie said the best thing about Freshmen is they become Sophomores.

Well, the best thing about going to last night's game was the crew in my Section and the Crowd and the introductions and the National Anthem.

The worst thing about going to last night's game was having to sit through 30 [playing time] minutes of uninspired basketball.

You weren’t alone . Almost seemed like CMA was back in the locker room at 1/2 time .

Although if we had “ given 3 good minutes at the beginning of the 2 nd half , we might have stayed a little closer ?”

Martelli had more ammo in his gun last night than Rick did .

The Pace game should have been a reality check for us fans but , we tended to discount it .
Agree 100%. Even our second team of scholarship players earning NIL bucks should have beaten Pace. That's why I said our second team was not going to win any games for us, let alone mount a comeback against a BIG team with 3 possible All-Conference players.
Personally. I think we got shortchanged in the NIL game this year. Rick has to bring in a couple of big bodies that can score in next year's NIL game. Bol will not be a 30 minute player. VJ may be a must get and I think his handlers know he will be a possible starter. The question will be how much will he cost.

As bad as last night sounds like it was (I only saw the halfway decent part), it is one game at the start of a season with a whole new group who coach warned would struggle some at first. Let’s wait a while before deciding what these guys can do individually and together. By the time of the BC game I think we’ll have a better idea of the team’s potential.

I remember when Ledlum originally chose Tennessee, I thought it wasn't a big loss because he wasn't quick enough to be a big time performer in the Big East. I fear I may be proven correct. He was forcing it a lot last night, but he also looked a step slow.
relax dude its one game. first game he was great. just chill out will you. and this site is back in rare form except for those of us who truly understand what is happening. Oh no Rick lost a game. Well so did every other major program major league team, nba team, they all lose a game. whats next is RICK THE RIGHT GUY thread come on now

no the "Is Rick the Right Guy?" thread won't be posted until after the North Texas loss ;)
