Michael Chandler (OREGON VERBAL)

Just a quesion.......could Gift be eligible for an extra year if he continues on to Grad School?

I think only if he red shirted in fresh or soph years which I don't think he did. I could be wrong but don't tell my wife!

Don't think so, he played two years of junior college basketball. That counts towards his 4 years of eligibility.

I just started my account but I have read for years...I lived in Orlando for years and I recognized the name Sergio Rodriguez who put the tweet up about Chandler. Mr. Rodriguez did a sports show on ESPN for years in Orlando. Funny guy and a new York or Jersey guy. He always talked about st johns and new York sports that how I recognized the name. Do not know what he is doing now but definitely a guy with contacts I assume.

Preciate it Manny

Talented guy! Wonder what happens if coach can getba verbal from Nolan and turn thisvweekend? Does he wait for Chandler?

Word is Nolan will not affect Chandler.

Does that imply Nolan is 2013 then ?

Not necessarily.

Ok. I think I'm following. What I take from that then is that 1 of our scholarships is reserved for Chandler. Period.
If he's eligible it's his.

And Nolan figures in separately, along with Turner, and Wood. And then presumably there's going to be at least 1 left over for Lawrence in 2013. Although, as discussed, an extra scholarship may suddenly open up.

It is very possible to have a scholarship open next year, especially since playing time will be curtailed for our talented team. Some may not appreciate that with all the new recruits fighting for playing time.

Welcome aboard, Manny, and thanks for the info!

Don't know if i read it correctly but Rumble made it sound like Chandler still would like to attend CF if NCAA allowed. Am I reading this incorrectly? Or was that in reference to last year?

Last year...

Starting to get a few not so goods from The East Coast Bias tweets.

These are dated April 27th.

It seems Michael did not mention us as being on his most recent list. Another tweet said that he was involved with R.Rose who cost Memphis its final four.

Another said, in essence, better get Nolan signed up.. The last, and a positive tweet was, " in Lavin we trust.,"

I guess that's the one that's most important..

Huh? We are in good shape with Chandler, and likely his destination whenever things are cleared up with the NCAA (which could be shortly).

The staff has done their due diligence with this kid, so I wouldn't particularly worry about the Rose situation. The class is shaping up nicely. ;)

Good to hear.

I went to the East Coast Bias site and they said the above things.

Thanks for the reassurance !

What recent list?

My error There were, just a few days ago, a series of tweets on The East Coast Bias.

I was in error about the list and Chandler.

, The tweets were not in sequence and it was confusing to me. Now, but upon deciphering everything, my initial interpretation was incorrect.

I don't know if the list referred to was oral or written but it DID NOT refer to Chandler.

It referred to Jermaine Lawrence not mentioning/ or not having us on his list. Theo Rabinowitz replied that he was surprised. I am also surprised as Lawrence is so local to us and is a 2013 candidate. .

It does not make sense that he would intentionally omit us at this stage. ?????

The other tweets mentioned are accurate descriptions.

MJD corrected me on our current status with Chandler being really strong and , thus, the big question still is his eligibility.

Were also extremely strong with Lawrence so not sure what list again was being referenced.

There was an oversight on the tweet in question, Moose. I looked at it on yesterday when allnet mentioned it.

Since it looks like Nolan is off the table, can someone please summarize the status and posible timeframe for knowing if Chandler will qualify, and when we might (hopefully) get a commitment??? Thanks.
