Mets

I hope they continue to drop. It was awesome to see the clincher at Wrigley, but a little like celebrating our victory in WWII in Tokyo.
I think they will. The key in my opinion will be the game on wed. If we split then all the sudden that sunday game becomes real valuable and I think people start gravitating to that game as a potential clincher and prices come down more.

I'm going to buy for friday for sure since it will be Harvey or deGrom ( this morning I heard Harvey but then someone told me a little while ago deGrom was still a possibility ). I'm not going to wait to the last minute on those tix.

For saturday I'll probably wait till 5pm to see what the prices are

Where do you stand?

I prefer along 3rd base. If you get there earlier the spot closer to home plate along 3rd base line is freaking awesome. You need to get there over an hour before the game to get the the rail.

Gman and I also did left field for the dodger game at 1 of the tables by the left field flag pole which was real good.

Some of my friends love watching from the shea bridge but personally I hate it there. Too far away from the pitching for my taste. The equivalent of where I stand but on the 1st base side would be just as good but for some reason I have no idea why but I prefer 3rd base line. Closer to home plate the better if you can get there early.

left field will be less crowded and the good thing about that spot is it's right near the bathroom and during the inning the bathroom is empty and as soon as a half inning is over there are 100 people on line so you can time it to just run in and out so you don't miss much time

By sheer chance, I happened to be in Chicago on business this week. I was thinking of buying a ticket for game three, but didn't realize that in Chicago Stubhub cuts off sales 6 hours before game time. This is different in NY, which is either 2 or 3 hours. So for game 4, I looked and bought a ticket around noon. I was by myself, which was a little odd for me, but got to see the Mets win the pennant in person. Also coincidental that before this year I had never been to Wrigley. It was on my stadium bucket list, so back in April, the first game I saw this year happened to be in Wrigley field with co-workers. I then went to 4 or 5 games at Citifeld. I closed my regular season by seeing a game at Fenway - where the Sox played the Orioles - the two teams the Mets have beaten in the World Series. I also went to 2 playoff games vs the Dodgers. Had it not been for the Dodgers vacating NY along w the Giants (the Mets blue and orange was taken from those teams colors) there would be no Mets. So this is a team of destiny. This coming week, I have a business trip to Jeff City Mo, a couple of hours from KC. I'm thinking of how I could make that work, since that is where the WS opens.

In the 8th inning, I got an email from a childhood friend who was from my neighborhood. About 5 years ago we reconnected through a neighborhood blog site, as we had lost track of each other more than 30 years ago. I'm sitting at Wrigley watching the Mets play, and my mind raced back to 1969 and Ten Mile River Boy Scout camp. Starved for Mets baseball, this friend and I played wiffleball games on a flat trail, with us taking turns trying to imitate Met announcers from the very beginning preamble, "Any use of the pictures, descriptions, of accounts of this game, without the express written consent of the NY Mets, is prohibited.". "It's a looonng fly ball, deep to left, Williams looking up. It may go! And there is goes! Home run! Home run by Clendenon. The Mets take a 3-1 lead"

So, it was strange, and great that I got an email from this guy as the Mets were completing a historic moment in their history, with a team that looks a whole lot more like the 69 team perhaps than any other since then. Casey Stengel reported on each game in the local Newspaper. "The Youth of America!" was his moniker for the Mets young players. That team was also a mix of older vets and younger players. They had a lefty hitting second baseman named Boswell who hit well (4/12, 2 hrs) vs. the Braves to help the Mets sweep them and get to the series. His accomplishments were dwarfed by Murphy, who has had one of the best playoff runs of all time. Seaver, Koosman, and Gentry were the starters in the Series.

On to KC. LGM

So it is the '85 Champs facing off against the '86 Champs. If the old adage that pitching beats hitting holds true, then then the Mets should have the edge.

WS winners are often a team that gets hot for a few weeks at the right time - no reason why the Mets cannot be that team in 2015.

Yesterday Collins told the NY reporters he thought deGrom was tired resulting in his recent struggles. My guess he leans toward Harvey for the opener.
Actually, I was hoping the Blue Jays would make the World Series, especially since they remind me of the homer hitting Cubs. KC has a very strong lineup, hopefully our young staff blows them away.

You're like Nostradamus, given that Harvey was named the game 1 starter about 8 hours before you posted this. ;)

I predict the mets sweep the cubs

as much as I'd like to go to multiple games I just ponied up for Game 5. Figured it will be a pivotal game regardless, 2-2, up or down 3-1. Really pumped for it!

Standing room or seats and which site did you use?

Here's the rundown. I checked both vivid and stubhub. I like the seats out in LF lower level so I found section 137 row 2 on VIVID for ~ 950 each. Went to the checkout and they charged 250 surcharge PER TICKET. thought that was absurd it came out to around 2500 total. I decided to go to stubhub. Got tickets in the upperdeck 524, Row 2. They were 800 each and I paid 250 dollars total for a surcharge so it was around 1850 total. Thought the 750 dollar difference was considerable. Then I just got an email from vivid...because I chose the seats and entered my email (going all the way to the point where they show their charges), they gave me an offer for $50 off any purchase over 500. So if you go the vivid route.. go all the way to the checkout then bail
