Mets

Honestly...at this point, just kick their asses on the field. Nothing stupid. No suspension, no momentum given back.

This was an old school beat down. Fuck them. Crowd was going nuts. Best part was when the announcer was doing intros he left a big pause after utlley so the crowd could go nuts and rain boos and fu's on him

Wasn't a clasic type game but this is the type of game we needed tonight

Now on to Matz. I didn't plan on going to the game but if stub hub comes down tomorrow I might just buy again

My tea leaves are predicting a no-hitter, so jump on those tix.

Collins is old school.....

Meh.
If he were truly old school, Collins would have thrown a damn tantrum on the field after that play. He should have been in the umps grill for failing to call obvious interference, award a double play and preserve the damn 2-1 lead. May have not made a difference, but it would have lit an inferno under the team. Instead he gingerly speaks to the umps and goes back to the dugout with his tail between his legs. And the Mets go quietly into the night.
. Thought I posted you were wrong and the score was 2-2 before Utley's slide. I don't see my reply but if I did post that I was wrong and obviously you are right.

I've been to a lot of Met games over the years - big games vs. the Cubs in 69, games during the September run of 73 led by Jones and McGraw, the 86 pennant clincher, all the home playoff games of 2006 - and I'll say this - Met fans were never louder or more engaged or more worked up then last night.

I had the best and most expensive crappy seats I will ever have, and they were worth every penny to be there. Our section seemed like one entire block party even before the first pitch was thrown. I never gave or received so many high fives, in part because the Mets gave lots of reasons to scream, cheer, and celebrate.

This 20 something kid next to me had a jacket from 86 and a pin from 86. His dad gave them to him as good luck charms. I got into the park early - about 7 pm, and milled around the packed Mets store. I was about to buy a "Take October" t-shirt, and then thought it was bad luck so we left without buying anything. I'll buy a "Took October" shirt if we get that far.

Tejada's entrance on crutches was not quite Willis Reed, but the crowd exploded. It was the capstone of the introductions, and another fan favorite was born courtesy of Utley. If we advance, Utley deserves a huge thank you. He poured gas on an already fired up fan base, and much more than that, on a Met team playing with a mission.

Our seats had a $42 sticker price, and were discounted as low as $9 during the regular season. Honestly, they are a bargain at face value during the reg season or playoffs.

Best of all, had an amazing night with my son, who was introduced to baseball as a 9 year old during a great 2006 season. Baseball is all about fathers and sons, and even though we had 3 hours sleep when I drove him to the airport this AM, it was al so worth it.

I suspect they will win tonight and advance, but this game to me will stand alone no matter what. Awesome night to be at a ball game. Ernie Banks had it right.

You and Paultz could have a very lucrative career at teavana :)

had a great time at the game last night. Paying the price today at work but who gives a crap. this team is awesome. the air was taken out of the place at 3-0. 15 minutes there wasn't a Met fan in the building not standing up screaming at the top of their lungs knowing we were going to win the game based on the team's response. Screw Kershaw tonight. During the intro's he looked right into the camera with a big "eff you" stare. I hope we return the favor tonight!

Hard to read his emotions. LA papers said he texted David Wright to convey an apology which is lame since he could have gotten Tejada's cell in an instant, or asked to meet him in person to apologize. My opinion is you may see him as a pinch hitter, but not in the field. If he pinch hits, he will be in an situation where the Mets couldn't bean him without jeopardizing the outcome.

Disappointing but not unexpected, the Delta sky seats behind home plates were 80% empty by the 8th inning

He will get his sooner or later. It's coming, if not this season, then next. We all want sooner than later though.

Oh Utley gave a long stare as well. And the Mets made sure to let it marinate which was funny to me. But I was talking about Kershaw. He gave a very intense stare

Game faces. The camera lingered on Utley so Met fans could give him his due. His teammates were defending him, which I suppose they should. Interesting to see if he will even be on their roster next year. I don't think he is ready to be a role player.

Kershaw on three days rest not going to pitch 9. Stay within a run or two at most into the 7th and I like our chances

I don't like out chances with a small lead until we hand the ball to Familia. Goeddel pitched BP so well in the 9th that Collins went to Familia to stop the bleeding even with a 6 run lead.

Not expecting a big lead tonight

Unless Matz dazzles and conserves pitches, best we can hope is 5 or 6 innings. I'm gonna guess Colon will be ready to go if needed. deGrom will be saved for a possible game 5. I don't think Syndergaard would be used on 2 days rest considering his age. After two innings last night, I don't think Colon would go three tonight, so I hope Matz can go at least 6. Familia won't start the 8th, but could be available for a 4 or 5 out save. Pressure is on to wrap this up tonight, and get a 4 game sweep of the Dodgers.
