Mets

That is just an illegal slide, I never talk about refs or umps but Utley never went to the base at all.

They can't review for intent (runners interference), can they?

This is an absolute joke. They better run an appeal play here.

I don't want to propose violence but the next game where we have a comfortable lead and Utley bats he needs to be fucking hit. And I don't care if we have to wait to next year to do it

As usual replay crap and officials arbitrarily enforcing some rules and ignoring others just ruins good sporting events.

this seriously could be one of the worst things I have ever seen and they have freaking video !!!

They should appealed the God damn play. That's on Collins.

Like I said earlier in this thread the Mets have one relief pitcher. Compounding that was ridiculous pitch selection to Hernandez resulting in a walk to a guy you should be blowing away with heat. Syndegaard has great stuff but at least in this game got way too cute too often and it finally caught up with him. Utley play and ridiculous umpiring will stay with me a long time if the Mets lose the series.

And my friends laugh when I tell them the mets are always cursed. How much more evidence do you need. You can't even make this stuff up

I guess it's not Collins.

Frankly, I don't get the explanation. Why can't you appeal it? He never touched it.

HE DIDN'T EVEN COME CLOSE TO TOUCHING THE BASE!! How is that not runners interference?

I realize I am in a very small minority but that whole sequence is why I HATE replay, IMO, one of the worst things to ever happen in sports. Utley NEVER touched 2nd base yet is given the base, why? Both he and Tejada never continued the play because the ump called him out, so Tejada never got the opportunity to tag him out. So at the least Utley should be out for leaving the field of play, if he thought Tejada missed the bag he should have gone to 2nd, not the dugout. So the Dodgers take a chance and appeal, what do they have to lose and essentially are rewarded for an umpires mistake.

I still blame Collins because if Wally was our manager he would have punched an Ump and then at least I would have felt justice

Utley didn't even begin his slide until he passes the bag. His sole purpose was to take out Tejada.

The more I watch the replay the more I can't believe Collins didn't throw a tantrum and get himself tossed.
