Mets

I honestly believe if you moved to California you would cure their record drought by all the dark clouds and rain you bring

You guys can keep him. We'll take our chances with the drought.

10 day jumbo_peanuts forecast calls for rookie board with a chance of being outright banned.

and why would I be banned? All I said was that the Mets play in the worst division in baseball, which is true.

So, why don't you put some context around that, and tell us how the playoff teams in baseball's worst conferences have done in the post season since 1970? Thank you. Take your time, and don't post here until you have the results ready.

You are right. Stating an opinion such as the Mets are in first in the worst division in baseball does not reach the level of banishment.

But coming on this forum and intentionally instigating the masses certainly can. Making matters worse, you are one of the first people to run to complain to the moderators when you feel you have been insulted.

For cripes sake, if you are going to take shots, at least be mature enough to deal with return fire.

Even though you are not one of them, your bevaior is no different than the majority of the insufferable millenials I must deal with at work

The level of dislike you are creating for yourself has an unlimited ceiling.

I would ask you to start a Yankee thread and stay out of the Mets one. But somehow, I do not see that happening.

Well you certainly are not a Met fan. Two comments you made stand out:

1. Hoping they blow that big lead and lose the Padre game (which they did) because someone posted it as win. What fan says that?
2. You said you are not a Met fan a couple of pages earlier on this thread

Correct, I am not a Met fan. But if I am not a Met fan, you automatically assume that I am a Yankee fan?

My choices were a Yankees, Phillies, or Cardinals fan because I can't think of other baseball fans who would care if the NL East is the weakest division?

Did I say anything about the 70's, 80's, or 90's? I said that they are in the worst division in baseball, and this year, they are!

I saw the Port St. Lucie Mets in Jupiter yesterday. Wright had a few hits and an error on a tough backhand at third. He looked shaky in the field as you would expect. He could have easily been given 2-3 errors on the day. He looked like he was running and moving around well, though.

Kirk N. hit a monster homer on a 93 mph fastball. He's a big, athletic dude close up. Nobody on either team was close. Eric Goeddel was ineffective in his inning of work.

I sat next to Dominic Smith's father. He told me 10 of Nic's 30 doubles hit the top of the wall and the bigger parks and air in Florida are taking its toll on his power #s but he expects them to go up at Binghamton and especially Las Vegas. He's not a big guy at all.

Amed Rosario looks good in the field and has speed but he has no pop on his bat whatsoever and is as scrawny as they come. I don't see a top 100 player.

Kid is putting together a solid season after a so-so debut last year.

Please tell me that you have a radar gun in your head.

Every pitch has speed displayed on scoreboard there even in warmups. I don't know reliable it is but I was sitting close enough to know it was the third fastball he showed him.

smh. I have lot a huge amount of respect for you.

nothing worse than blowing extra inning games. So f'ing frustrating

games have been fun, tight. if nothing, reminds this team still has some work to do as it gears for a playoff berth (Nats down like 12-5 right now, I can't see them staying in this right now if we maintain a deccent winning pct).

I'm sure Harvey will be geared up to take the last game of the series tomorrow. Tired pen, two losses in a row, an Offense that has struggled a bit this past week outside that afternoon game with the Rockies.

that i even care about this in august is awesome enough for me.

peace.

FWIW, Dominic Smith's brother was/(is?) is semi regular poster here. I had several PM conversations with him a few years ago, and lost the message thread when the site crashed so don't remember his screen name. I think he is a half brother, and pretty sure he lived in CT, and said he was hoping to see his brother play in Savannah, but probably couldn't afford to do so. Also the kid is a huge SJU fan and said that St. John's would be his dream school. Really nice kid - a great example of the kind of people you meet on redmen.com
