The ivy league front office better get creative. We need runs... Plus Conforto (yeah I am a broken record).

People need to relax. The Mets are 2 games back in the worst division in baseball. There is alot of baseball left to be played, and a division title isn't out of the question!!

Seeing you two duke it out reminds me of when Al Qaeda had beef with the Somalian Pirates.
Chris7, you are a pretty miserable person. Maybe you should find a pastime that isn't too stressful for you to handle? If you can't be happy with the Mets this season, you'll never be happy.

We have FIVE young aces if you count Wheeler and I think Fulmer in AA (former first round pick) will be the next in line. We have a young all-star caliber closer....great youth and probably the best bullpen we've ever had.

Conforto is getting called up tomorrow and I promise you that kid will hit right away. He could have went straight from Oregon State to the bigs last year. He's the #14 overall prospect according to Baseball America's mid-season rankings. We've got bats sprinkling in the after him as well with Herrrera, Nimmo, Reynolds, Cecchini, and later Dom Smith, Rosario, and others.

Try to enjoy the ride for once. We are having a very good season thus far with some pretty bad luck in the injury department.

And looking at the remainder of this year.....we have 10 games remaining against the Phillies, 9 games against the Marlins, and 7 against the Rockies. That's 26 games total...we should win 18-20 of those. If we can do that, and play .500 ball in all other games, a division title is a real possibility.

The one thing that we don't want to do is end up in the Wild Card game. The way it looks now that game is going to be in either St Louis or Pittsburgh. If we end up in either of those places, I don't like our chances. St Louis is a veteran team that has been there before, and has been the best team in baseball all year. They just simply know how to get the job done. Pittsburgh may even be a tougher place to play. If you are a fan of baseball and have watched any of their playoff games the past two seasons, you understand what type of atmosphere you are walking into there. Throw in the fact that they will more than likely pitch Gerrit Cole, who is one of the best, if not the best, young pitchers in the game today, and any team will be facing an uphill battle.

I think we put in alot of our chips into this season and go for the division title. It probably is our best option!

I love the Mets, and always, always want them to win. In fact, I love this pitching staff. It's very difficult at this juncture to enjoy the ride with Mayberry, Campbell, and Recker STARTING. This is no way on Terry, as he has done a fine job with the the A players he has on this major league team. It's ridiculous that he has to field a minor league team. Also, Murph's time has come, he is useless, experiment over.

I am all in with Conforto too. You speak as if that is confirmed he will be coming up? Where did you hear this? I also heard that the Wilponzi's are able to grab Zobrist but they refuse to pick up the 2-3 million he's owed.

I take one exception to your post-you name six guys plus others that are all bats in the majors that are on the way. That would be the most unlikely scenario in the history of the world. It is a less likely possibility than me being activated by the Mets for the rest of the season and hitting over .400 and am over 60 with 2 bad wheels. :(

I agree. We need Conforto now and I think it's time to give Dilson another shot. I get agita seeing Campbell, Mayberry, Murphy, and Recker in the lineup. Not to mention I was listening to Darling the other night multiple times called out Recker for his over framing if you would when it came to some of Harvey's pitches. That's not acceptable in a series vs. the Nats.

The Mets need to acquire a professional bat - period - or else they will be watching baseball on tv in October. To rely on an unproven prospect, even a highly rated one, is crazy. Most do not pan out.

The Mets, like many losing franchises, have not been involved in many playoff hunts. Now is the time to make a move. Catching the nationals is not a likelihood. The Nats are wrecked by injuries, and at full strength will pull away. However, the Mets can contend for a wildcard, and shouldn't blow this opportunity to pick up a high priced bat dumped by a team out of the race. The Tigers for example, will be sellers.

Parnell blew the game today. Collins has put too much pressure on him by having him as the set up man. Should have brought Familia in to get the job done. We face Grienke and Kershaw against Niese and Colon the next two days. Unlikely we will need Familia then.

Terry Collins admitted he made a mistake not bringing in Familia. I give him a lot of credit for saying that but that is a horrible mistake.

I like Terry. He tries to be as upfront and straightforward as possible. Plus look at the roster he's given, nothing can really be his fault. Unless the obvious, which he again addressed and was upfront about today in re: Familia. You can tell by just looking at him that he feels the heat right now, and he has the urgency, if only some of these god damn "major leaguers" would step up and reciprocate.

Our clean up guy is batting .236, Nats' clean up today batting .321... with 0 offense we remain in the hunt, we need at least 2 bats, but one should make us more competitive.

Parnell could no-hit his next 60 batters and I still wouldn't trust him in a big spot. TC is really hurt this club with terrible pitching switches and decisions.

He's cost us like ten games by sending starting pitchers into innings without the possibility to let them finish due to tight pitch counts. If you are giving a guy 7 pitches to work with, just sit him down and let a reliever get the benefit of starting with the bases empty.

I do find kid of funny that you were already critical of Lain before he was employed at SJU for a month, but you give TC a full get out f jail free card. Do you have to go to school to be a contrarian, or is it more of a hobby?

Huh? When did I criticize Lavin? If I ever did, it was out of anger or frustration at that current moment. I was a Lavin supporter. Would have liked to see him stay. I am also a Mullin supporter as I want the team to win. I want to go to games at the Garden and enjoy it, and win.

Comparing this to professional baseball? 1. They're paid in baseball? NY is the biggest market and we have a small market lineup. Terry has a minor league roster that he has to turn into a major league lineup day in and day out, combined with the fact along with these scrubs, if you would (probably too harsh), the real "major leaguers" have been atrocious all year, particularly on offense. Terry isn't perfect, but for what he has, he's done an okay job.

Still confused a lot by what you said though. I also, appreciate your attention in every thread, at least someone reads my posts. Maybe we can grab a beer for a game next season or something.

PS- Where's Conforto? Could use him asap, doesn't sound like it's happening tomorrow.

Terry Collins is a nice man but what he did today cannot be justified. You never know how baseball goes but if we won that game we would have been 1 game back. As bad as our hitting has been that would have been amazing. While it would be unlikely to beat out the Nationals, anything is possible with their mounting injuries.

He's coming this weekend. I guarantee it. There was NO WAY they were bringing him up to face Kershaw and Greinke for his first two games and there is no use bringing up a kid just to sit him. I'm telling you this kid will be our best hitter for average day one. I know how badly the Mets wanted to delay his debut until late April of 2016 for financial reasons, but they have no choice right now.

We got some good news on Wright starting baseball activities in New York early next week. If he can come back even at 80%, we are a different team.

Why the hell is TC still batting Granderson against lefties when he has a .121 average against them? It's almost August and he hasn't found a better option? Sandy absolutely has to acquire some reserve that can hit a freaking lefty even if he can't do anything else. The Mets v. a lefty is essentially an automatic loss at this point.

Gotta make some noise now in free agency. I think Zobrist, Conforto, and a relatively healthy Wright makes the Mets a very dangerous playoff team.
