Mets

Pitching how did the Mets manage to corner the market. Now they are in need of a manager and coach who'll protect their arms. Should be some trade opportunities with all that pitching

Only trade what you can't afford. As this year shows, you can never have enough arms in this era.

I give Frank Viola a lot of credit for developing the pitching.

Roster room and is it rule 5 that creates free agency. IF you don't cash in some of your chips you'll lose them and Mets look to have few quality position player in the minors

I was shocked to read that the average MLB fastball is 93 mph, which seems very high. Syndergaard, for his part is at 98 MPH on average. I'm just as impressed with the way most of our pitchers swing the bat - complete players. If VIola helped to build the poise and ability our young guys have, then he deserves a ton of credit.

Wow I get back today and do some reading and we have a little Met Magic maybe happening still it seems

Who do we root for regarding Cards vs. Giants? I thinking StL, as MadBum scares me in a one game playoff. A sweep (either way) would be acceptable

Could be the most important weekend of the season for us. Cards win tonight and its a 3 way tie I believe. Mets have to take care of their own business and if they sweep will wake up Monday picking up at least 2 games.

Wasn't really confident Mets would do that job, but here we are after a sweep. I went Friday nigh - beautiful night for baseball and it was one of those games where you stay put and watch every pitch. Once again, they can't falter vs. Braves, although tonight may be a washout.

The Braves can certainly hit. Pederson has the lowest batting average of the starters with .262 while Kempe is next with a .271 average. Hopefully tonight's game is not rained out with Thor facing Blair - no contest..

We have God on our side.

Was thinking the same thing regarding the pitching match-up. Guess we were both right, it was no contest. :(

I might be going with Weathermannyc on saturday or if I can't make that game going on sunday. Anyone else going this weekend ? Will be a big weekend

Wow! And to think Syndergaard was lights out in the first inning. Not so invincible. We are not scoring enough runs, last four games we scored 3 each game. Don't know if we can do better against Teheran tonight.

I don't generally second guess managerial moves, but why, with two outs and ducks on the pond, do you replace solid hitter Lowney with Kevin Plawecki? You know, the buck eighty nine Kevin Plawecki, the no hits in the bigs in 3 months Kevin Plawecki. All you need is a walk, and I saw some swings at some pitches out of the zone (especially good night). I think Lowney was a better bet to lay off pitches like those. And I don't want to hear righty lefty male bovine waste product, that's nonsense when the guy you're sending up is hitting 80 points lower than the guy he's replacing.

If we lose tonight and there's no bonus baseball this year, this is one of those games that's going to haunt me. The winter winds will be colder, the cold November rain will be more stinging, I will never get over losing the love of my life, Stephanie Seym... Uh, never mind.

Wow what a play.

Swept... Yes the bats went cold but all 3 games Terry was grossly out managed. Not even sure who the Braves manager is but bring him over here.

At this point I wouldn't mind this team tanking out of the race if it meant Terry was fired. That's a real horrible thing to say but Terry makes this team unwatchable IMO

So much for the easy schedule. Lose 3 straight at home to a team 30 games below five hundred while fighting for a playoff birth.

I went to the game tonight and there were several strange decisions but the reality was we were robbed by the Inciarte catch.

It's definitely not all Terry's fault. The organization as a whole has taken the approach in general that we want our players to hit for power, draw walks, etc. I fear this emphasis has sabotaged players like Conforto's career. Why not let players play the game the way they've been playing their entire lives. Conforto a year ago this time was looking like the next Carlos Gonzolez from the left side, and now he looks like he doesn't know how to swing a bat up in the bigs.

On the flip side, no one is to blame for Jay Bruce other than Sandy Alderson and Bruce himself. The guy makes Jason Bay look like a great acquisition.

As for yesterday, I don't know what Terry was thinking. He had Ty Kelly and Eric Cambpell in a massive late September game at the same time. He messes with the lineups far too often and its destroyed a few players' confidence/ability to get in rhythm.
