Manaea back, 3/75
Damn sorry DK
Honestly would have loved Walker Buehler. We have a lot of question marks in our rotation. Hopefully we will prioritize relief pitching and get something done with Alonso.Signing Manaea makes me feel a lot better about this. Would love one more starter to slot in though
Middle of the Night deals. Stearns must be a night owl. Good move. Needed to happen. Hopefully Pete is next.Manaea back, 3/75
I think Stearns has done a great job of building depth where we can stomach some injuries or low performances:Honestly would have loved Walker Buehler. We have a lot of question marks in our rotation. Hopefully we will prioritize relief pitching and get something done with Alonso.

The only thing I do think we're missing is a bonafide third playoff caliber starter. Manaea and Senga are two, and I'd rather not be hoping for Montas or Holmes to be our third. If we don't get Sasaki, that will have to be via trade (unless Burnes refuses to go to TOR and no one's offering him a long-term deal, maybe we swoop in on a Snell-like deal)

Glad you mentioned Senga "coming back from injury". We need to see if he can replicate year one. Thanks for laying that out and a second half call up could help. If we get the 2021 Frankie Montas he is a solid 3. If like last year more like a 5. Clay Holmes is obviously an unknown. He wasn't even that good in relief last season and Peterson is a 4/5 so I agree we need a 3 especially with Senga coming back from an injury. We were spoiled last year to get as far as we did with that pitching staff.

21 mil of 3/75 Manea contract deferred 10-20 years.Middle of the Night deals. Stearns must be a night owl. Good move. Needed to happen. Hopefully Pete is next.
I love the players smart enough to defer income that guarantees them a nice lufe 20 years from.now21 mil of 3/75 Manea contract deferred 10-20 years.
Depending on imputed interest rate, present value will be closer
to 62-65 mil, which is what counts for cap/ penalty purposes
Seems more than fair
Oh? What would the Wilpons have done?No brainer for both sides
