The Dodgers will be the Japanese all stars soon. They all want to play there. With Cohen, I honestly don’t discount anything. He knows they need a starting pitcher.
I think Senga was an anomaly.

We need to sign Pena regardless. He'd be our biggest prospect in the Dominican ever. It's amazing how under the radar that's become. We would have to back out of unofficial agreement we have with SS Elian Pena for 5 mill in order to sign him with the International pool money — or trade for more. Obviously, you do that in a heartbeat.
I believe the Angels had the same agreement with Julio Rodriguez and left that to sign Shohei. The Mariners swept in and signed Julio instantly.
Sasaki will be a big time pitcher. I don’t think he goes to the Dodgers like most assume.
I do think going top-heavy is the way to win the International game. Peña would be a terrific add compared to our usual 2-3 prospects in the top 50-60.We need to sign Pena regardless. He'd be our biggest prospect in the Dominican ever. It's amazing how under the radar that's become.
Trade for more prospect money, and use Cohen's connections for more advertising opportunities. Money shouldn't factor in.
I would love for you guys to be right, and not saying Cohen won’t try to get any of them.Imanaga went to the Cubs. I don't think the Dodgers are inevitable for all these guys. I do think the west coast teams have advantages.
I actually think Sasaki will prioritize development. But I also think his connection with Darvish will be really hard to overcome. Stearns showing up to a game in September shows he won't give up quickly but we should not be assuming that it's an even-odds thing

If given a choice, I’d take Sasaki because of our timeline. I don’t think landing both is realistic.
DK you might have to wait awhile as Soto has to pay up for Baty’s #22.

We can trade for 60% of what we got. So we can split it 5 mill and 5 mill. I don't think Sasaki this will be a decision that an extra mill or two will make a fundamental difference. I think its realistic.
His agent also said, “Given the gap in the bonus pool amounts is so negligible, my advice to him is don’t make a decision based on that," Wolfe said, “because the long-term arc of your career is where you’re going to earn your money."That amount in pool money is similar to the value of a first round pick, so I don't know how easy it will be to trade for.
Not jealous of that contract. Whew
