Jake Diekman heard you
Mendoza learning from Boone how to sit on his ass as a pitcher falls apart.Surprised they’re letting Smith go another batter, they are smoking it. And it’s tatis oh god
Mets have the best booth in the history of sport broadcasting IMO.Full transparency, I don't like the Muts at all. But I really dislike their announcers. Detest Cohen for comments he made long ago about Steinbrenner and the Yankees (of course, now the shoe is on the other foot with Cohen). And not a fan of Hernandez either.
In all fairness, not a fan of most any announcing team. DVR almost every game in all sports so I don't have to listen to miscellaneous BS all game long.
Lindsey Nelson, Ralph Kiner and Bob Murphy?Mets have the best booth in the history of sport broadcasting IMO.
Most Mets fans are dreading the day we lose all or part of this trio.
I am not a big fan of Darling as I feel like I am in a college lecture when he talks. However, nothing beats a booth of Gary and Keith.Mets have the best booth in the history of sport broadcasting IMO.

Those were the voices of summer. Murph with his “nine miles of bad road” would be appropriate for the current team or “fasten your seatbelts, we’re headed to the ninth”.Lindsey Nelson, Ralph Kiner and Bob Murphy?
They win the damn thing 10 to nine! In an exasperated voice. I was in the waiting room of my dentist’s officeThose were the voices of summer. Murph with his “nine miles of bad road” would be appropriate for the current team or “fasten your seatbelts, we’re headed to the ninth”.
Years ago I was in the car for the “the Mets win the damn game call” . I was driving through Forest Park in Queens driving home from my the girlfriend’s house. I almost drove off the road into the woods.
Very strange year. The only wildcard team over .500 is Atlanta. StL at .500. The last two spots are basically up for grabs between 8 teams between 1 and 4 games under .500. AL teams currently in the playoffs all over .500.What a streak. I don’t think it’s quite a headfake. We probably aren’t this good, but the whole league is basically .500 teams with hot and cold streaks thrown in.
Our problem is every ahead of us except the Cubs are playing .500 or better and the nationals are also 8 for their last, so we still have a ton of teams to climb over.
Honestly I am not sure trading Alonso at this point hurts our playoff chances. If we want any chance at the playoffs we need to keep Martinez and Severino.I would still look long and hard to trade Alonso at the deadline. He is 29, and as purely a 1B/DH, will not age well. Moreover, he has already declined and extension.
Yes, while Boras clients go FA in attempts to maximize offers, they have not been as successful getting the most out of FA and have settled for less than what was originally offered.
I would go forward with Vientos at 1B/DH. This team is what it is. I think long run it will be better to get something for Alonso, than to try squeaking into the playoffs this year.
