According to The Athletic, the Mets are kicking the tires on Andrew Heaney, and the Braves are lurking on DeGrom.
I think Texas is the threat. The Braves have made a series of good moves to cost control their roster. $40M per for deGrom blows it up.According to The Athletic, the Mets are kicking the tires on Andrew Heaney, and the Braves are lurking on DeGrom.
Ha - that's funny. I guess it depends who from The Athletic you read... Jim Bowden predicts the Braves will sign DeGrom, and Rosenthal says "highly unlikely." I hope Rosenthal is correct.
Yeah, I don't know what to make of this either.
good call!I think Texas is the threat. The Braves have made a series of good moves to cost control their roster. $40M per for deGrom blows it up.
Rosenthal: "Highly Unlikely" Braves Sign Jacob deGrom - Metsmerized Online
According to MLB Insider Ken Rosenthal, it is “highly unlikely” that the Atlanta Braves sign Jacob deGrom. Here’s what Rosenthal wrote in his latest piece for The Athletic. • Two other things that are highly unlikely for the Braves: The signing of deGrom or a shortstop other than Dansby Swanson...metsmerizedonline.com
Texas on the other hand is starving for high end pitching.
Edit: of course, this is silly rumor season so take everything with a grain of salt. I’ve already seen Trae Turner, Justin Verlander, a Japanese guy coming to the Mets. Gonna be a lot of names thrown around with just a mere mention from someone/anyone with a laptop.
Wish I was wrong. Crazy money for an oft injured 34 year old pitcher. Just seemed like desperate crazy money team looking for pitching. If healthy it’s great for them short term. The back end, no trade and all will be an albatross.good call!
