Mets 2024 Season

When I saw Diaz "helped" off las night, I got sick as in there goes the season. This is why I said this idiotic exhibition should only be held after the ML World Series. If a player is insistent on playing for their "national team", they should have insurance which covers their salary for any time missed with their ML club when injured in this "competition".

If I were the Met's management, I would have our major league players return to camp NOW.
 
Either the World Baseball org or the Puerto Rican team should be liable for his salary until he can return to pitch for the Mets--if he ever returns.
 
The one thing I will say is that he barely did anything strange in his movements to get hurt.

It looks like that injury would have happened sooner or later.

Muttsies will definitely trade for a good reliever. The Rays don't play the "closer" game. It's situational and the Muttsies are going to have to do something like TB.

Good relievers are always available at the deadline as well. Gotta take a New NY Mets view.
 
Read an article and it said Mets paymentsto Diaz is covered by insurance policy paid for by ML Baseball to cover players in the WBC.
 
Puerto Rico celebrated like a high school team that won the WS after beating the DR. Edwin Díaz then blew out his patellar tendon.

Then they went out the next game and lost to….Mexico. If we were writing a book we couldn’t come up with a dumber story line.

Sigh. Why?

Voglebach/Ruf/Pham…equals poor roster construction. Two guys who can’t play a position and aren’t hitting and another who can play some OF but really can’t hit.

The whole thing could have been settled by signing or trading for one decent OF. Yet they just resigned Voglebach.

The Voglebach move is still driving me crazy. He’s just not “IT“ and has created this we need a right handed bat to ”pair” with him and a third guy who can actually play A position.
