Mets 2024 Season

Gotta agree that this is a year that we had a team exceed expectations EXCEPT for the Polar Bear who has been a major flop in walk year. The only reason he was at the all star game was because of the HR Contest and his past success. Boris probably cost him bucks on the new contract
OOPS Polar Bear must read my post tonight and came out of hibernation--let's see if he can put together another 12 games like this

Kudos to Megill, back to back strong starts. Liked to see Acura’s double to tie the game immediately after his error gave Washington the lead.

Weird watching Acuna. He is a mini Ronald Acuna. He doesn’t have near the power but damn he swings just like his brother. Good results tonight but his minor league season was meh 🫤. Hopefully, he keeps hitting line drives. Surprised he didn’t try to steal a base. That’s his game (40 SB at Syracuse).

Exactly the type of game I was hoping for tonight.

If MeGill has turned a corner…
Megill’s combined ERA in September the last two seasons was a 2.73 coming in to the game tonight. His career April ERA is even better than that. He just breaks down like clockwork in the middle of the season.

Correct me if I’m wrong but is this the first time all year we’ve been 2 games ahead of Atlanta? It certainly feels like we never get the cushion to more than a game. I’m ecstatic. Complete the sweep!

The Mets hold the tiebreaker over the Padres and the Diamondbacks. The tiebreaker with Braves will be determined in the final series with them. It’s currently 5-5.

Mets currently in the second wildcard spot.

Scott getting TJ surgery, but internal brace procedure. So should be out 6-8 months
Ouch. I was slotting him in at 4 for next year. Now it looks like:

1. Senga
2.
3. Peterson
4.
5. Megill
6. Blackburn
7. Sproat/Tidwell
Emergency - Vasil/Hamel/Butto (back to starter)

We are going to be as deep as we’ve ever been with experienced AAA starters next year. Probably need to re-sign one of Manaea and Severino as well as Quintana or someone similar to occupy the #2 and #4 spots in the rotation.

Corbin Burnes would really make the rotation a strength. He's a Stearns guy, turning 30 in October. A workhorse. I really hope we're aggressive in getting him, but also think re-signing Manaea should be a priority.

Burnes fits in 😁

Burnes AND Manaea would be amazing.

Severino and Manaea will be making some money this offseason.

Wow. I believe that’s the first time in Mets history with 10+ runs in 3 consecutive games. Great job! 👏

One game at a time. One game at a time.
