Good question. Move Cabrera back to short and let Rivera play second until Walker returns. Disappointed last night that Duda didn't handle the hard hit ball , leading to a big inning for the Marlins.
 
Since all three Met announcers claim Conforto is our lock for the all star game should we be ruling out Bruce instead?

At this point its Conforto but still a lot of baseball to be played before the ASG. Blevins has been our Pitching All-Star.

Conforto will be our All-Star. Bruce may have been more deserving but its a nice story anyway.
 
First of all I am glad Reyes has turned things around. Won't be the first time I'm wrong. Don't you just love the relievers Alderson has given us - all three yesterday gave up 2 runs, 3 hits in 2 innings. Matz had nothing, nine hits and seven runs.
 
I'd keep Reyes around for next yr. He's cheap. Won't fetch anything on the trade market anyway. And most importantly he'd be a good mentor for Rosario.
 
Rumor has it that they want to try and move Cabrera who they say is still complaining and a bad influence before they bring Rosario up.

I'm really disappointed in Cabrera's attitude. Always liked him, thought he was so good for the team. Makes sense to move him since Walker will return soon to second. No room at the inn for Cabrera when Rosario comes up.

Now that Correa is out 6-8 weeks for Astros, I think Cabrera is an excellent fit there. It would amount to a 2 month rental for Houston and clears a spot for Rosario. Don't think we would get much in return but a prospect is better than nothing.
 
Everything I'm reading is that the market for power is not there this year. So there's a good chance Bruce, Duda, stay the rest of the way.

Addison Reed is the only thing that may bring back a halfway decent prospect.
 
So three minor league pitchers (#18, 25, 28 Sox prospects) for an Addison Reed rental.

Not bad.

Can't believe Bruce wouldn't bring back a bag of balls.

I want the Mets to resign Bruce after all he's having a season similar to Cespedes' last year. And he certainly is an excellent team player both on the field and in the clubhouse. Did you ever see him jog after fly balls or never hustle on the bases?

I like Bruce, but also be aware that he's extremely streaky and can go ice cold for very long stretches (like the second half last year). All in all though a 30 hr guy is not easy to find. I'd keep him, but also am aware that I wouldn't feel that way when he goes into a deep freeze.
 
It's amazing to think how many significant injuries the Mets have had - Thor, Wheeler, Harvey, Matz, Familia, Cespedes to name a few. Can't really blame anyone. It's just a part of the game and wiped out what should have been a playoff season.
